5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneider misses with a two punch combination.
Schneider tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sanchez swivels and escapes. Sanchez throws a head kick but Schneider moves out of range.
Schneider has managed to clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Schneider creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sanchez avoids the elbow strike from Schneider, against the cage.
Schneider lands on the inside with an uppercut. Schneider is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanchez is defending well for now. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Schneider. That's going to take a lot out of him. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Sanchez is hurt! He's hurt bad - Schneider fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Sanchez from any more punishment! Keirrson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but St Pierre is keeping busy. St Pierre has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Keirrson uses from the top position. St Pierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. St Pierre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Clanger connects with a looping right hand.
Yonsil Clanger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clanger throws an overhand right that lands on Joe's shoulder, as Joe tries to avoid the shot. Clanger throws a chopping leg kick but Joe manages to avoid taking any serious damage. A chopping leg kick lands by Clanger. Joe avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Clanger thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Clanger wants to control for a moment but Joe uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Clanger seems to be looking for submissions.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abreu looks to land a combination but Northcote avoids it well. Abreu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Northcote displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Abreu throws out the jab. Northcote changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abreu tries to avoid it but Northcote manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abreu to the ground. Abreu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Northcote tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abreu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Northcote somewhat. Abreu throws a right and a left that both miss. Northcote closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schimberlake is thwarting Meridius's attempts to control the position. Schimberlake thumps the canvas. Schimberlake postures up in Meridius's guard and throws a big left but Meridius blocks it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Meridius thumps Schimberlake with a low kick. Schimberlake looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schimberlake will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Meridius throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Schimberlake looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meridius is fending him off so far but Schimberlake persists. Nope, Meridius circles away and we're back to standing.

Meridius stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meridius wants it to stay on the feet. Schimberlake blocks a head kick by Meridius.
