The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Christ is fending him off so far but Popov persists. Nope, Christ circles away and we're back to standing.
Popov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Popov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Christ looking for a sweep. Not yet Christ, not yet.
Popov won't allow Christ to get back to his feet.
Christ looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Popov puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Christ is not content to let Popov control the position.

Popov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Christ doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Popov.
Popov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Christ keeps working.

Popov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Christ regains full guard. Nicely done.

Popov throws a big elbow that misses.
Christ keeping moving, preventing Popov from controlling successfully.
Christ preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Christ bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Popov's guard.
Christ's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Popov is pulling down on Christ's head. It's preventing any offense from Christ, at least for the moment.

Popov misses with a takedown attempt - Christ sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Christ fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Popov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Christ scores with a three punch combo!
Popov walks straight into a right hand from Christ - that's dropped him! Christ jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Popov from any more punishment! Popov complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Shamrock throws a lazy head kick
and Know counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Ken Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Know will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shamrock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Know is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Know escapes and gets back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Know throws a jab but it's blocked by Shamrock.
Know slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Know walks into a straight right hand from Shamrock.

Know closes the distance and clinches.
Shamrock is trying to break the clinch but Know has him pressed against the cage.
Know lands a nice uppercut.
Know swings wildly with an uppercut but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shamrock takes a shot to the head.
Know stalls.
Know seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Know keeps control of Shamrock as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Morris looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Huey seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Yi gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Leonidas gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Yi is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Liddel has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: MMA Gods in the buildup to the fight.
Liddel misses with a hook. Hardon ducked under it nicely.

Liddel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hardon gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Hardon tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Liddel is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Hardon buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Hardon!! Hardon is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Liddel throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Bergasmarchi slaps away a takedown attempt from Skayias, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Skayias takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bergasmarchi leaves Skayias with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bergasmarchi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonis Skayias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bergasmarchi dives in for a single leg takedown but Skayias sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
