Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Salam Abdulrahim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Abdulrahim might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Brand Nubian - Allah U Akbar. Jack Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdulrahim throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abdulrahim off to one side.
Abdulrahim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Abdulrahim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Abdulrahim counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Abdulrahim is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Abdulrahim stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Abdulrahim trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.

Abdulrahim stands up.

Abdulrahim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Abdulrahim finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Abdulrahim has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Jones to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Abdulrahim is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Jones pulls down on the head and he's put Abdulrahim to sleep! This one is all over!
