The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Corre.

Nowakowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nowakowski wants to work for an arm triangle but Corre is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nowakowski wants to free his trapped foot but Corre is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Nowakowski is working for a kimura but Corre is defending it quite comfortably.

Nowakowski drops back looking for a leg! Corre is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Corre manages to kick Nowakowski off! Nowakowski jumps back into Corre's guard.

Nowakowski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Corre manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nowakowski has Corre in his guard.

Corre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nowakowski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nowakowski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Corre sprawls well initially but Nowakowski persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nowakowski seems to be looking for submissions.
Corre wants to get back to full guard.
Nowakowski frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Nowakowski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Corre can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Corre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nowakowski keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Egidiusz Nowakowski has got the better of the ground game so far.

Corre swings around for an armbar but Nowakowski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Corre's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Nowakowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nowakowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nowakowski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nowakowski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Nowakowski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Corre's guard.

Evans is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Evans hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
