Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kamil Gadzhiev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pavel Romanov! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gadzhiev shoots in looking for a takedown. Romanov tries to sprawl out of it but Gadzhiev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Romanov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A leg kick checked by Gadzhiev. Gadzhiev stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Romanov. Romanov throws a nice looking combination but Gadzhiev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A big right from Romanov misses. Romanov misses with an uppercut. Gadzhiev blocks a leg kick. Romanov finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Romanov fails to land with a series of punches.
Horrible takedown by Gadzhiev or perhaps it was just good defense by Romanov which made him look bad. Gadzhiev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Romanov. Nice sprawl there from Romanov as Gadzhiev shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamil Gadzhiev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gadzhiev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Romanov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gadzhiev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Romanov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gadzhiev somewhat. Gadzhiev is breathing heavily. Romanov misses with an uppercut. Gadzhiev uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Romanov. Gadzhiev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Romanov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Romanov lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Gadzhiev is looking to close the distance but Romanov sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Gadzhiev crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Gadzhiev is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keen wants to clinch and Sullivan counters with a low kick, right behind Keen 's knee. Sullivan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Keen sprawls well. Keen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sullivan gets slowly back to his feet. Jamie Keen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Keen clinches up against the cage. Keen lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Joe Sullivan has been cut. Keen throws an elbow that misses.
Keen lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Nice elbow from Keen. Keen throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Keen creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sullivan's defenses. Nice elbow from Keen. Sullivan takes an elbow to the forehead.
Sullivan is rocked!
That has opened up Joe Sullivan's cut even more. This has been an exciting period of action! Sullivan dodges an elbow strike from Keen.
Sullivan fails to pull guard.
Sullivan taking a breather. Keen pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Sullivan dodges an elbow strike from Keen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sullivan blocks an elbow strike. Keen lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Sullivan takes an elbow to the temple. Keen lands a vicious elbow to the side of Sullivan's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Keen tries to finish him with strikes but Sullivan still seems able to defend himself so Keen steps back and lets Sullivan get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game. Sullivan is still on wobbly legs! Can Keen finish him? Sullivan looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Keen gets a clinch. Keen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Sullivan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Sullivan blocks an elbow strike. Sullivan blocks the elbow strike.
Sullivan blocks an elbow strike. Sullivan seems to have recovered his senses. Keen gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Sullivan is pressed against the cage. Keen pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Sullivan! Two more big strikes from Keen and Sullivan crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jamie Keen!
