The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garkov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elliott tries to avoid it but Garkov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elliott to the ground. Elliott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Elliott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Elliott is trying to drag Garkov to the mat but Garkov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Garkov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Garkov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Garkov stopping the sweep attempt from Elliott. Garkov wants to control from the top but Elliott keeps moving. Garkov is stalling in the full guard. It looks like Garkov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Garkov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Elliott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sergei Garkov wasn't active enough on the ground. Garkov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Garkov dives in for a single leg takedown but Elliott sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Garkov wants to break free but Elliott has control.

Garkov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Garkov fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Elliott shoots in and drives through. Garkov sprawls well. Garkov shoots for a double leg takedown but Elliott sprawls well. He's pushed Garkov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Elliott shoots in looking for a takedown but Garkov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Elliott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Garkov has his takedown stuffed and Elliott counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Garkov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Garkov wants to control but Elliott is keeping busy and won't allow it. Garkov throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Elliott jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Garkov manages to avoid the submission attempt. Garkov tries to get back to half guard but can't. Elliott has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Garkov stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Elliott on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Garkov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Elliott as he jumps to the side. Elliott showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Garkov.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Elliott tries to clinch but Garkov is having none of it. Elliott has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Elliott is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Elliott moves into the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garkov working some nice short punches in the clinch. Elliott breaks from the clinch.

He's now in Garkov's guard. Nice move by Elliott!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Garkov dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Elliott is defended easily by Garkov. Elliott tries a head kick but it misses.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ben Elliott will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Garkov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Garkov laying and praying for a moment but Elliott takes advantage and regains half guard. Garkov sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Elliott defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elliott is pressing down on Garkov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Garkov wants to control from the top but Elliott keeps moving. Elliott preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Garkov throws a big elbow that misses. Garkov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Elliott working a defensive guard but Garkov passes into half guard.
Garkov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Garkov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Elliott's head. Garkov stops Elliott from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garkov is looking to take a break and control but Elliott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Garkov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Garkov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Elliott regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Garkov. Garkov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ben Elliott is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garkov passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Oystenteller is defending well against a takedown attempt. Silva is working for takedown but Oystenteller is calmly controlling the position for now. Monkey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Monkey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Richard wants to control but Monkey passes easily into half guard.

Daemon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dalit sees it coming and defends easily. Daemon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
