That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Leonardo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Machida - the referee stops the clock and Leonardo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Machida. Leonardo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Machida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Leonardo sprawling to the canvas! Leonardo rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Machida finish him?!

Machida cracks Leonardo on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Leonardo falls backwards against the cage. Machida follows up with more strikes that drop Leonardo to his knees. Machida keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Leonardo! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renzo Machida!
Renzo Machida tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Rai Leonardo stepped up to the mic, saying 'Thanks guys for the support but it just wasn't my night. Will come back stronger!'.
