0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gentile Catalano! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tysson checks the leg kick. Catalano dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tysson. That did some damage! Tysson shoots and misses and Catalano counters with a shoot takedown. Tysson fights it but they end up in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Catalano forces his way into half guard. Catalano is trying to work for a kimura but Tysson is defending well.
Tysson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Catalano jumps into side control! Catalano tries to advance to mount but can't. Catalano wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tysson keeps working. Tysson is trying to control Catalano's posture but Catalano avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Catalano trying to control the action but Tysson is working from the bottom. Catalano in side control, just content to control the action for now. Catalano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tysson is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tysson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Catalano off and has taken his back! Catalano just trying to survive but Tysson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Catalano breaks Tysson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tysson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Catalano can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Catalano felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Tysson with the ground and pound from mount. Tysson prevents Catalano from getting the reversal. Tysson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Catalano working to try and regain half guard.
BOOM! Tysson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tysson looking to control but Catalano is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Tysson wants to finish this one by submission but Catalano is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tysson.

Tysson avoids the attempt from Catalano to control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Catalano tries to get back to half guard but can't. Catalano defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Tysson. Catalano tries to reverse the position but Tysson maintains control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Catalano keeps trying to improve his position. Catalano tries to hold on but Tysson pushes him away. Catalano is wriggling around trying to escape.

A close round but Gentile Catalano will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Catalano slips a straight right by Tysson. Tysson moves into the clinch. Catalano has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tysson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Catalano in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Tysson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Catalano is trying to break free. Tysson tries to land a knee to the head but Catalano blocks with his arms.

Catalano prevents Tysson from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tysson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Catalano has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Tysson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tysson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Catalano tries to avoid it but Tysson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Catalano to the ground. Catalano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Catalano keeps the fight on the outside. Tysson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Catalano. Catalano shoots in and gets a takedown into Tysson's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tysson is on top in guard.
Tysson wants to control from the top but Catalano keeps moving. Catalano had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tysson defends it easily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Catalano can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tysson with a nice head shot there. Tysson won't allow Catalano to sweep him here. Catalano working for a triangle but Tysson defends it easily.

Tysson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Catalano swivels though and keeps the full guard. Catalano is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Catalano keeping moving, preventing Tysson from controlling successfully. Catalano has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Tysson has passed into side control.
Tysson in side control lands a decent elbow. Tysson working away. Tysson advances to mount. Catalano wants to hold on but Tysson pushes him away. Tysson working for a submission but Catalano is keeping him at bay. Tysson has hold of Catalano's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Catalano manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Catalano in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Catalano is looking to improve his position but Tysson isn't that keen on the idea. Catalano regains half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tysson wants to take a breather but Catalano is having none of it. Tysson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tysson looks to land a combination but Catalano avoids it well. Catalano throws a sloppy head kick and Tysson moves out of range easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tysson is defended easily by Catalano. Tysson forces Catalano back against the cage and clinches. Tysson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Catalano has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Catalano trying to control the position but instead, Tysson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Catalano into the cage. Tysson is looking to control Catalano's arms but Catalano gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tysson has his back to the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Catalano is trying to break the clinch but Tysson has him pressed against the cage. Tysson keeps control of Catalano as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Catalano stalling in the clinch but Tysson improves position. Tysson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tysson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tysson looks to land a combination but Catalano avoids it well. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Catalano lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tysson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tysson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Catalano misses with a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Catalano on the wrong end of a nice jab. Catalano needs to keep his hands up - Tysson had a free shot at his head there. Tysson avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Tysson throws a one two combo.
Tysson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Catalano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Catalano shoots in looking for a takedown. Tysson tries to sprawl out of it but Catalano keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tysson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tysson shoots in for a double leg but Catalano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Catalano buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tysson thows a body shot but no joy. Tysson blocks a low kick nicely. Tysson misses with a few strikes there.
Catalano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Catalano takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bone on bone clash there as Tysson blocks the leg kick.
Tysson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice takedown defense from Tysson. No joy for Catalano on that attempt. A leg kick checked by Tysson. Catalano attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Tysson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Weston stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thiago. Weston cracks Thiago with a right hand to the side of the head. Thiago misses with a low kick. Thiago throws a lazy right hand but Weston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Thiago doesn't manage to clinch there - Weston circles away.
Weston throws a body kick that misses. Weston moves into the clinch. Weston tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Weston goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Thiago throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Weston blocks it with crossed arms. Thiago lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Weston lands with a right to the head. Weston swings away with an uppercut that misses.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Lee looks for a takedown but Jewtuszko sprawls well. Jewtuszko gets tackled into the cage by Lee. Lee maintains the clinch. Lee gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Jewtuszko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've been hearing that Lee has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reznov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. A jab lands there for Sengoku. Sengoku lands a big shot that drops Reznov! Can he finish him?
Reznov is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sengoku wants to get up but he can't break Reznov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Oh Reznov is still in real trouble! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sis throws a head kick but Starseed moves out of range.
Sis connects with a solid leg kick. Sis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Starseed sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Starseed doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Sis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Starseed doesn't seem bothered though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Starseed waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sis. Sis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Starseed will feel that in the morning. Starseed tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Starseed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Talbert looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Talbert slaps away a takedown attempt from Sobrante, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sobrante throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
