The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Reynolds has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Jobber is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pattenson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Marx. That one must have hurt. Pattenson shoots in and bounces Marx off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pattenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marx swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pattenson passes into half guard. Pattenson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marx has managed to free his arm - good work. Pattenson is working for a kimura but Marx is defending it quite comfortably.
Pattenson moves into full mount! Marx won't be happy about that! Marx wants to control but Pattenson is having none of it. Pattenson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pattenson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pattenson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Pattenson avoids the attempt from Marx to control. Marx is working to get back to half guard.

Marx trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Pattenson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Marx is defending well though. Pattenson let's go of the attempt for now. Marx fending off the submission attempt from Pattenson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Marx's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Pattenson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Marx has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Pattenson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Marx has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Pattenson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marx pinned against the cage. Marx gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Marx scores with a kick to the midsection. Marx lands with a kick to the temple. Pattenson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A thudding body kick lands there by Marx!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marx with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Marx feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pattenson's calf. Pattenson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Marx. Marx lands a head kick!
Carl Marx seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pattenson swats away the attempt to clinch by Marx. Marx tries to clinch but Pattenson moves out of range. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Marx, right into the meat.

Pattenson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Pattenson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Pattenson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Pattenson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marx can pounce on him.

Carl Marx is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marx pushes Pattenson away with a front kick. Marx lands a head kick. Pattenson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pattenson is rocked! A nice inside leg kick there by Marx. That's going to slow Pattenson down. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pattenson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pattenson seems to have got his legs back now. Marx thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pattenson if he has to take too many more of those.

Pattenson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Pattenson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. An inside leg kick lands from Marx. Marx wants to clinch up but Pattenson keeps it at a distance. Marx keeps Pattenson at a distance using the push kick. Marx has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pattenson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson. Johnson misses with an uppercut. McWeeny saw that one coming. McWeeny instigates a clinch. Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
McWeeny pushes Johnson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Johnson tries to pull guard but McWeeny holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McWeeny walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fleece Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson throws the left hand but McWeeny avoids the punch easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Johnson. McWeeny does a little dance to reset his feet. Johnson looks to land a combination but McWeeny avoids it well. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson throws a body punch but McWeeny moves out of range. Johnson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. McWeeny forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. McWeeny lands a body shot in the clinch.
McWeeny's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. McWeeny drops Johnson onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Johnson is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round. McWeeny lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Johnson to his knees! McWeeny keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Tinsley tries to clinch but DeVito is having none of it. Tinsley gets caught flat footed, as DeVito shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tinsley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. DeVito tries to free his leg and advance position but Tinsley is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DeVito postures up.

DeVito loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeVito throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tinsley works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tinsley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
