The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Tupper V misses. Angel shoots in but Tupper V avoids the takedown attempt easily. Angel checks the leg kick nicely there.
Tupper V misses with a double jab
and Angel counters with a series of strikes. Tupper V will be more careful next time no doubt. Tupper V has been working on his boxing with his coaches at CCF's Flying Circus in the buildup to the fight. Angel slips a jab and a cross from Tupper V.
Tupper V looks to land a right hand but Angel moved out of range. Tupper V lands a head shot. Tupper V lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Angel backs up against the cage.

Angel misses with the combination.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Tupper V enables Angel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tupper V manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Angel preventing the sweep. Angel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tupper V is looking to reverse the position. Tupper V is not content to let Angel control the position. Angel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tupper V gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Tupper V is desperately trying to improve his position but Angel has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Angel looking to secure an arm triangle but Tupper V defends it well. Tupper V is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Tupper V defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Angel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tupper V manages to regain half guard. Good work. Tupper V is trying to stand up here but Angel is controlling him well. Tupper V wants to control but Angel is keeping busy and won't allow it. Angel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tupper V does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Angel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Angel wants to stand but Tupper V has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Tupper V is defending against the submission attempts here by Angel.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Angel is looking to advance position but Tupper V won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tupper V seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Angel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Tupper V wants to stand up but Angel has a hold of him and won't allow it. Angel is looking for a sweep. Tupper V is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tupper V wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Angel has his takedown stuffed and Tupper V counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Horrible takedown by Angel or perhaps it was just good defense by Tupper V which made him look bad. Bobby Tupper V has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Angel. Tupper V throws a series of punches but Angel moves out of range. Tupper V throws a nice looking combination but Angel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Angel has one foot on Tupper V's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Tupper V shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Angel eats them both and turns towards Tupper V to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Angel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Angel throws a series of punches but Tupper V moves out of range. Tupper V looks to land a combination. Angel sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Tupper V throws a series of punches but Angel avoids them all with ease. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Angel closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tupper V to the mat! Tupper V manages to get full guard. Tupper V trying to keep a closed guard but Angel is proving a slippery customer.

He's got his arms around Tupper V's waist but Tupper V gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Angel off to one side. Angel slips under a jab from Tupper V. A punch combination from Tupper V misses. Tupper V leaves Angel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Angel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Angel tries to free his leg and advance position but Tupper V is retaining full guard. Tupper V wants to sweep here but Angel controlling him for the moment. Tupper V is looking to stand up but Angel isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tupper V shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tupper V was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Tupper V tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Angel pushes Tupper V away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tupper V gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tupper V can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Angel has a closed guard, preventing Tupper V from standing up. Tupper V manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Angel on his heels. He'll look to pass Angel's guard now, I'm sure. Tupper V seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Tupper V stands and steps away. Angel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Angel fails with a takedown attempt. Tupper V misses the jab. Tupper V throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Angel sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tupper V lands with a straight right. Angel didn't see that one coming.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dime won't be happy with that. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jones decides to stand back up. Dime has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dime trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones has Dime pulled in close to control his posture. Dime drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dime jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Alex James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Victorious stuffs the takedown. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Victorious . James fails with a takedown attempt. James shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. James thows a huge punch but Victorious dodges it nicely.

Spishak rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can White finish him?!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goatboy throws an overhand right that lands on Grimes's shoulder, as Grimes tries to avoid the shot. Grimes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Goatboy finds it's way round the side to connect with Grimes's head. Grimes moves out of range as Goatboy strikes. Grimes shoots for a double leg takedown but Goatboy sprawls well. He's pushed Grimes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Goatboy leaves Grimes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Grimes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Goatboy counters with a one-two to the body. Pan Goatboy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Grimes. Grimes shoots and misses and Goatboy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Boa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Te Huna has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Te Huna is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boa pulls down on the head and he's put Te Huna to sleep! This one is all over!
