We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Brody!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Belson. Brody does a little dance to reset his feet.
Brody displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Belson.
Belson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Belson works Brody's body with a nice hook.
Brody has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Belson keeps the fight on the outside.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Belson.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Belson trying to control the action but Brody is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brody can do anything to dispel that myth.

Belson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Belson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Brody tries to buck Belson off but Belson is having none of it.

Belson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brody knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Brody is not content to let Belson control the position.

Belson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Brody looks calm but he's in trouble here. Belson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Brody is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Belson lets go of the hold and Brody can pop his arm back in it's socket.
