11 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Fierro! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Optiplex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Optiplex tries a head kick but it misses.
Optiplex tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Optiplex throws a sloppy head kick and Fierro moves out of range easily. Fierro moves into the clinch. Optiplex really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Optiplex tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fierro smiles and moves away.
Optiplex tries to clinch but Fierro is having none of it. Optiplex wants to land a leg kick but Fierro is out of range. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Optiplex tries to clinch there but Fierro circles away.
Fierro throws a right hand that Optiplex ducks under and follows up with a left that Optiplex also avoids with ease. A momentary lapse in concentration from Optiplex enables Fierro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Optiplex manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Optiplex is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fierro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fierro passes Optiplex's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fierro slows the pace down in half guard. Fierro scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Fierro is figuring out what he wants to do next. Fierro has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fierro stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Optiplex drops his hands momentarily and Fierro takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. No joy there for Fierro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fierro moves into range and clinches up with Optiplex. Optiplex connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fierro's face.

Luis Fierro has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Fierro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Optiplex did well to prevent Fierro getting side control.

Fierro slips a nice elbow through Optiplex's hands, connecting with Optiplex's forehead. Fierro decides to stand up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Optiplex's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Fierro connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Optiplex scrambles back to his feet. Optiplex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fierro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fierro blocks a head kick by Optiplex.
Fierro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Optiplex at a distance.
Fierro misses with a left hand letting Optiplex counter with a right hand. Fierro uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A head kick misses from Optiplex.

Oh Optiplex is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fierro throws a right and a left that both miss. Fierro pushes Optiplex up against the cage in a clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Fierro. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Fierro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Optiplex's efforts to push away. Optiplex throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fierro throws a looping overhand right but Optiplex ducks down to avoid it. Optiplex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dell Optiplex is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Optiplex moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Optiplex takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Fierro is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Optiplex throws a sloppy head kick and Fierro moves out of range easily. Fierro is still on wobbly legs! Can Optiplex finish him? Fierro tries to score a power double leg takedown but Optiplex sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fierro somewhat. Fierro lands a nice looking body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fierro leaves Optiplex with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fierro seems to have recovered his senses. Optiplex misses with a low kick. Good standup being displayed there by Fierro as he connects with a hook. Optiplex throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fierro closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Optiplex! Fierro dives in looking to finish! Optiplex is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Enesio instigates a clinch. Hell blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Enesio tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hell goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Enesio pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Enesio is looking to control Hell's arms but Hell gets an underhook and turns him. Now Enesio has his back to the cage. Hell managing to block the knees to the body from Enesio.
Hell misses with a shot to the kidneys.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dash keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hall misses with a low kick as Dash jumps back. Hall misses with an uppercut
and Dash counters with a shoot takedown. Hall fights it but they end up in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Dash tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard. Dash trying to control the position from guard on top but Hall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hall throws a poor cross that misses
and Dash counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hall keeps working. Dash is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dash looking to control but instead Hall has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Dash seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hall does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Damon Dash hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hall lands a really nice looking cross but Dash seems unphased.

and Dash counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hall won't be happy with that. Dash prevents Hall from escaping the position. Dash in side control, just content to control the action for now. Dash thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodriguez. Rodriguez shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Rodriguez being controlled against the cage. Williams has Rodriguez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Williams pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rodriguez tumbling to the mat - Williams dives into Rodriguez's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Williams postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Williams haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Miguel Rodriguez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Williams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Williams works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Williams throws a big right hand that misses. Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Rodriguez is retaining full guard. Williams throwing strikes but missing. Williams won't allow Rodriguez to sweep him here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gustavo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gustavo lands a couple of elbows. Gustavo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dos Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gustavo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dos Santos working for a triangle but Gustavo defends it easily.
Gustavo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Gustavo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dos Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gustavo has managed to get both his arms back between Dos Santos's legs - danger averted. Gustavo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gustavo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dos Santos is looking for a sweep. Gustavo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Gustavo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dos Santos sees it coming and defends easily. Gustavo is looking to take a break and control but Dos Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gustavo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Dos Santos is trying to maintain the position but Gustavo is very close to passing his half guard.

They are putting on a show! Gustavo looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gustavo wants to control but Dos Santos is keeping him busy. We've been hearing good reports from Gustavo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dos Santos is looking for a sweep. Dos Santos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Dos Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dos Santos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dos Santos looks winded! Dos Santos is refusing to be controlled, as Gustavo sits in half guard. Gustavo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Gustavo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gustavo is keen to just control but Dos Santos is a slippery customer. Gustavo is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gustavo lands a nice short elbow. Gustavo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. This has been an exciting period of action! Gustavo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dos Santos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gustavo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Dos Santos won't allow Gustavo to pass to mount. Dos Santos is staying active underneath Gustavo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gustavo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dos Santos is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gustavo scoring with strikes to the body and head. Dos Santos is still in real trouble! Can Gustavo finish him? Gustavo is trying to control. Dos Santos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dos Santos tries to get to full guard but Gustavo has control of the leg. Dos Santos seems to have recovered his senses. Gustavo stalling away here and it's allowed Dos Santos to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gustavo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Dos Santos wants to sweep but no luck. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dos Santos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gustavo controls the pace.

Gustavo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dos Santos's head. Ray Gustavo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gustavo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Gustavo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Gustavo defends it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gustavo scoring with punches to the head and body. Gustavo loads up on a big left hand. Dos Santos felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Gustavo looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Dos Santos can't hide his disappointment, as Gustavo celebrates the victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beltran darts in and clinches Stoll up against the cage. Beltran struggles to land a body shot inside as Stoll controls his hands.
Beltran is looking to control Stoll's arms but Stoll gets an underhook and turns him. Now Beltran has his back to the cage. Beltran told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Beltran is trying to push Stoll away but Stoll has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Stoll lands a nice knee to the body. Stoll connects with a knee to the head.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir looking to score a takedown here. Speed is defending well but Mir drives through and ends up in Speed's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Speed working a defensive guard here.
Mir thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mir wants to control from the top but Speed keeps moving. Speed looking for a sweep. Not yet Speed, not yet. Speed wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him. Mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Speed swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Speed had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mir defends it easily. Speed has his foot on Mir's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mir works his way back into a safe position though. Mir trying to control but Speed is working from the bottom. Mir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Speed wants to get back to his feet. Speed is not content to let Mir control the position. Mir is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Speed can do anything to dispel that myth. Mir wants to pass the guard but Speed is defending well. Mir is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Speed is just riding it out for now. Mir eventually gives up the hold. Speed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Speed is trying to control but can't.
Speed is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Mir has latched onto it... Big trouble! Mir pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Speed is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Mir!
