and Mayweather makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mayweather connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mayweather lands with a straight right. Sy didn't see that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Floyd Mayweather showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by Hold on : by Tim Waits. Paul comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fueled -Anthrax kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson dives in and grabs Paul's left leg, looking for a takedown. Paul pushes down on Patterson's head and hops out.
Paul looks to land a left hand but Patterson moved out of range nicely.
Paul wants to clinch up but Patterson keeps it at a distance.

Patterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Paul to the mat! Paul manages to get full guard.
Paul utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Patterson stands up over Paul, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Paul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Patterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Paul controls Patterson momentarily but Patterson frees himself.
Paul is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Patterson is controlling him.
Patterson stands up over Paul, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Paul wants to stand and escape but Patterson is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patterson looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Patterson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Paul wants to pass the guard but Patterson is keeping the position.
Patterson wants to sweep but no luck.
Patterson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Symbol swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Symbol.
