The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson cracks Money with an uppercut from hell and Money crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Johnson's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
That has opened up Smasher Money 's cut even more. Money looks gassed! Johnson pushing down on Money 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Money 's head.
The cut above Smasher Money 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Urai takes the fight into the clinch. Pingshaw working some nice short punches in the clinch. Urai tries for a takedown. No joy.
Pingshaw lands an uppercut. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Pingshaw creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Urai tries to pull guard but Pingshaw won't allow it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Pingshaw. Pingshaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pingshaw clinches. Urai tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pingshaw fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pingshaw moves in looking to clinch but Urai pushes him off. The fight stays on the outside here - Urai looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pingshaw tries to clinch but Urai moves away and Urai counters with a shoot takedown. Pingshaw fights it but they end up in guard. Urai is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pingshaw is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pingshaw has escaped and now he's on top! Urai looks gassed! Pingshaw wants to stand but Urai is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pingshaw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Urai looking for a sweep. Not yet Urai, not yet. Pingshaw tries to stand but Urai is controlling from the bottom. Urai manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Urai prevents Pingshaw from getting the reversal. Urai looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Urai wants to control the pace but Pingshaw is squirming around nicely. Urai throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pingshaw flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Urai looking to secure an arm triangle but Pingshaw defends it well. Urai is working for a guillotine from mount but Pingshaw frees his head quite easily.

Pingshaw misses with a takedown attempt - Urai sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pingshaw closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Urai fails to pull guard.

Urai avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Pingshaw tries for a takedown but Urai circles away easily and Urai counters with a big head kick but Pingshaw shrugs it off. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Pingshaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Urai takes the fight into the clinch. Pingshaw prevents a takedown attempt there.

Urai slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Urai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pingshaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Urai wants to control but Pingshaw is keeping him busy. Urai misses with the ground and pound.

Yoshiaki Urai has got the better of the ground game so far. Urai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pingshaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pingshaw can't do much from the bottom here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Hicks. No joy for Pro on that attempt. Hicks lands with an overhand left. Pro looks for a takedown but Hicks sprawls well. Hicks defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pro. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Techi Pro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hicks clinches with his opponent.

Pro is breathing heavily. Hicks lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hicks lands a left hand.
Pro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hicks just stands there and leans against the ropes. Hicks lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pro backwards. Hicks scores with an uppercut up the middle. Hicks scores with an uppercut up the middle. Hicks throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Hicks lands with a light punch inside. A right handed body shot lands from Hicks.
Pro could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hicks lands with a left to the head. Pro's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hicks throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pros head. A short uppercut from Hicks.
Pro is rocked! Hicks pushes Pro back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch. A right hand to the body from Hicks.
Hicks lands a big knee to the head and Pro goes down! Hicks is looking to finish! Oh Pro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks cracks Pro with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Hicks immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Pro is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Hicks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rader shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Melo is trying to defend but Rader finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Melo won't allow Rader to pass to mount. Melo actively working from the bottom here. Rader wants to stand up but Melo has a hold of him and won't allow it. Rader controlling the position easily from mount.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rader moves into full mount! Melo is in a horrible position here. Rader smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Hanma goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Toyokawa tries to bum rush Hanma with a series of wild strikes but Hanma uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hanma tries to land a leg kick but Toyokawa saw it coming and moves away.

That was a close round but I would say that Baki Hanma will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hanma has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. It looks like Ahmad Daud has been cut. Daud is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hammett is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Daud to the mat. Daud regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Hammett has his foot on Daud's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daud works his way back into a safe position though. Hammett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hammett trying to control the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ramen sprawls well. Ramen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Costa gets slowly back to his feet. Ramen misses the jab. Felipe Costa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Costa gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Ramen cracks Costa with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Costa looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ramen finish him?
