Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ingmar Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gideao Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ace Of Spades. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tavares's choice of entrance music: Die Die Die My Darling. Gideao Tavares has the eye of the tiger tonight.

2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ingmar Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gideao Tavares! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tavares was well out of range. Poor timing from Scott. Tavares fails with a takedown attempt. Scott scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Gideao Tavares has been cut. Tavares misses with a takedown attempt and Scott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scott. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Scott throwing strikes from guard but Tavares blocks nicely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tavares working for a triangle but Scott defends it easily.
Scott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Scott stopping the sweep attempt from Tavares.

Scott throws a series of punches but Tavares avoids them all with ease. Scott throws a right and a left that Tavares avoids nicely. Scott rushes Tavares and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Scott manages to break the clinch.
Scott closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tavares quickly recovers to half guard. Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scott looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scott seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tavares for as long as he can get away with. Tavares blocking the ground and pound attempt from Scott. Scott wants to pass to mount but Tavares is defending the position. Tavares is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ground and pound from Scott. Scott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tavares looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tavares is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scott. Scott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Scott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tavares can do to turn this around? Scott preventing the sweep. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Scott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Scott sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ingmar Scott. The fight stays on the outside here - Tavares looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott. Scott scores with a one two! Tavares had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Scott gets in close and instigates a clinch. Scott stalling in the clinch.

Tavares keeping moving, preventing Scott from controlling successfully. Tavares has his foot on Scott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scott works his way back into a safe position though. Tavares is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tavares is breathing heavily.

Tavares gets slowly back to his feet. Ingmar Scott is winning the standup battle so far. Scott rushes Tavares and presses him up against the cage. Scott manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Tavares got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tavares has managed to get both his arms back between Scott's legs - danger averted. Scott pulls Tavares in close to prevent any damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Tavares wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.

Good exchange - Scott coming out on top. Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scott moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The cut above Gideao Tavares's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Tavares shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily. Ingmar Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gideao Tavares. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Scott rushes Tavares and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Scott has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tavares uses from the top position. Tavares trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tavares stops Scott from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tavares on his heels. He'll look to pass Tavares's guard now, I'm sure. Scott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Scott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tavares wants to take the fight to the mat but Scott manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Scott throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tavares wants to get back to full guard but Scott has mounted him! Scott controlling from mount. Scott lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tavares is in a horrible position here. Scott smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Gideao Tavares's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gideao Tavares's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tzu scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Planck walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Tzu throws a series of punches but Planck avoids them all with ease. Tzu throws a hook to the side of Planck's head but Planck sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A combination from Tzu does no damage. A looping hook to the body misses from Tzu. Planck does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been hearing reports that Planck has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Tzu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Planck. Tzu thows a body shot but no joy. Tzu misses with an uppercut. Planck misses with a right hand and Tzu counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tzu misses the shot to the body. Tzu scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Tzu throws a nice looking combination but Planck bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tzu fails to land with a series of punches.

Tzu has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Tzu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Planck with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Tzu wants to improve his position but Planck is controlling well.

Hack shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Swain eats them both and turns towards Hack to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

We've been hearing reports that Swain has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Swain shoots in looking for a takedown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Knockout connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

We've heard reports from his gym mates at BEVA Fight Home that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Cooper controls from within his opponent's guard. Knockout is looking to stand up but Cooper isn't so interested in that idea. Knockout is looking to stand back up but Cooper counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Knockout.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cooper trying to control the position from guard on top but Knockout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Knockout will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cooper throws a big right hand that misses. Knockout has momentary wrist control but Cooper slips an elbow through the middle. Cooper trying to control but Knockout is working from the bottom. Cooper postures up and lands a big shot to Knockout's brow. Knockout wants to stand and escape but Cooper is having none of it.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Knockout is looking to stand up but Cooper isn't so interested in that idea. Cooper lands a couple of elbows. Cooper prevents Knockout from getting back to his feet. Cooper postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Knockout is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cooper, into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Knockout wants to get up but he can't break Cooper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Cooper has his hands on Knockout's head, controlling the position. Knockout knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cooper on the ground. Knockout wants to stand but Cooper has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cooper controls Knockout momentarily but Knockout frees himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage slips a straight right by Mayo. Savage throws a lazy right hand but Mayo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mayo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Savage stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Savage thows a body shot but no joy. Savage dips to his left and cracks Mayo with an uppercut! Mayo thows a body shot but no joy. Savage is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Mayo tries to work over Savage's front leg with a kick but Savage checks it. Mayo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mayo throws a head kick that misses. Savage throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Savage takes a swing at Mayo's ribcage but misses. Nice defenses there by Mayo. A left lands for Mayo. A big left from Savage misses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mayo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Savage manages to avoid it. Savage looks to land a body kick but Mayo moved away. Savage takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Savage has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. A jab from Mayo does it's job there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mayo throws a jab when Savage was well out of range. Savage shoots and misses and Savage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sloppy strikes from Mayo. Those never looked like landing. Savage misses with a body shot.
Mayo looks to land a left hand but Savage moved out of range nicely. Mayo has a takedown stuffed. Savage shoots in for a takedown but Mayo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nice shot lands for Savage. Savage throws a hook to the side of Mayo's head but Mayo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Savage jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mayo takes one on the button. Mayo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mayo tries to bum rush Savage with a series of wild strikes but Savage uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Savage throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A looping hook to the body misses from Mayo. Savage does a little dance to reset his feet. Savage listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Savage circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Mayo to the canvas! Mayo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Savage keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

It looks like Kobe Romeo Paris has been cut. Paris uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Stevenson. Bear Stevenson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A looping hook to the body misses from Stevenson. Paris does a little dance to reset his feet. Bear Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paris tries a low kick but Stevenson avoids it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Paris. Bear Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Paris takes one to the chin there. Paris is trying desperately to land a takedown but Stevenson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Paris. Paris tries to clinch up but Stevenson circles away and keeps his distance. Stevenson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paris shoots in for a double leg but Stevenson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bear Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kobe Romeo Paris. Stevenson cracks Paris with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Stevenson cracks Paris with a right hand to the side of the head.
Paris is rocked! Stevenson sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Paris's defenses. It connects perfectly with Paris's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
