Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sammy Southland! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Southland swings and misses with a shot to the body and Grapplin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Grapplin preventing the sweep. Southland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grapplin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Southland prevents Grapplin from improving his position. Grapplin wants to control but Southland passes into side.
Southland taking a breather here. Grapplin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Grapplin is looking to regain half guard here but Southland keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Southland happy to just control the position for now. Grapplin can't do much from the bottom here. Southland sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Grapplin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Grapplin is looking to reverse the position. Grapplin is trying to control Southland's posture but Southland avoids it. Southland scores with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Southland in side control lands a decent elbow. Southland in side control, just content to control the action for now. Southland has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Grapplin struggling a bit here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Grapplin on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee asks Southland politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Southland prefers to stall for the moment though. Grapplin is looking for a sweep. Southland landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Southland trying to control the position but Grapplin is working away. Grapplin is trying to improve his position. Grapplin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grapplin tries to get out of the position. Southland is looking to take a break and control but Grapplin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Grapplin is trying to buck Southland off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Southland lands a nice forearm strike. Southland creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Southland connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Grapplin some visible discomfort.
Southland is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Grapplin's shoulder. That is not cool. Grapplin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Grapplin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Southland connects with a decent elbow. Southland tries for a takedown but Grapplin circles away easily and Grapplin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Grapplin wants to stand but Southland is controlling his posture from full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Southland holds on and takes a little breather. Grapplin trying to control the position from guard on top but Southland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Southland controlling the position. Gorilla Grapplin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Grapplin looking to score a takedown here. Southland is defending well but Grapplin drives through and ends up in Southland's guard. Southland pulls Grapplin in close to prevent any damage. Grapplin trying to move into half guard but instead Southland has managed to sweep! Southland is looking to pass into half guard but Grapplin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Grapplin is in guard. Grapplin trying to control the position from guard on top but Southland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Southland keeping full guard, as Grapplin tries to pass. Southland not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Southland wants to sweep here but Grapplin controlling him for the moment. Grapplin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Southland swivels though and keeps the full guard. Southland pulls Grapplin in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Grapplin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Southland sprawls well. Southland wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grapplin gets slowly back to his feet. Southland changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grapplin tries to avoid it but Southland manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grapplin to the ground. Grapplin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Grapplin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grapplin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Southland manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Grapplin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Southland keeping moving, preventing Grapplin from controlling successfully. Grapplin wants to get up but he can't break Southland's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Southland has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Southland tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Southland pulls Grapplin in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gorilla Grapplin. Southland uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Grapplin. Southland goes for a double leg but Grapplin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Grapplin continues to drive forward. Gorilla Grapplin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sammy Southland. Grapplin trying to control the position but instead, Southland has worked for underhooks and has pushed Grapplin into the cage. Southland can't get the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Grapplin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Southland is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Grapplin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gorilla Grapplin dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Grapplin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Grapplin trying to control from half guard but Southland is working away. Grapplin is looking for a kimura but Southland is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Grapplin to get the leverage. Southland keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Southland trying to control from the bottom.

Grapplin wants to stand up but Southland manages to regain full guard. Grapplin looking to sit in guard and control but Southland gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Southland wants to control from the top but Grapplin keeps moving. Sammy Southland has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Southland lands a couple of decent looking shots. Southland is looking to work some ground and pound but Grapplin has wrist control. Southland trying to control but Grapplin is working from the bottom. Southland slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Southland wants to control from the top but Grapplin keeps moving. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Grapplin wants to sweep here but Southland controlling him for the moment. Grapplin looking for a guillotine here but Southland defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Southland throwing shots but Grapplin is blocking nicely. Grapplin tries to get to full guard but Southland has control of the leg. Southland looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grapplin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Grapplin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Southland is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Southland looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gorilla Grapplin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Sammy Southland comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Southland has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
