0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Colin Wilkinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Michael! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michael shoots in and bounces Wilkinson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Michael postures up.
Wilkinson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wilkinson tries to control but Michael wriggling away. Michael bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Michael is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Michael content to stall in guard here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilkinson controls Michael momentarily but Michael frees himself. Michael sitting in guard here, content to control. Wilkinson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Michael slips nicely into half guard. Michael tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wilkinson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Michael thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wilkinson's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilkinson is looking to control Michael's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilkinson avoid being mounted? Wilkinson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Falwell falls off balance throwing a combination
and Deloitte counters by moving into the clinch. Falwell managing to block the knees to the body from Deloitte.
Deloitte tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Falwell smiles and moves away.
Falwell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Falwell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Deloitte moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Yahweh Falwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Falwell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Deloitte. Falwell misses with a wild combination.
Falwell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Deloitte shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Falwell defends it nicely. Falwell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The fight moves into the clinch position. Deloitte is struggling to control the position.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Jr Deloitte wins by unanimous decision! In his post fight interview, Jr Deloitte started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. The defeated Yahweh Falwell had this to say: 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Helix feints a jab promting Erlickas to slip. Helix then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Erlickas slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Laurynas Erlickas has been cut. Erlickas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. A jab from Helix does it's job there. Helix cracks a nice hook into Erlickas's ribs. Erlickas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Helix is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Helix connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Erlickas takes a punch right to his stomach. Helix has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Helix fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Erlickas to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Erlickas looks to clinch but Helix throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Timmons definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Neil misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Timmons.

Timmons closes the distance and pushes Neil back into the cage. Timmons lands a body punch in the clinch. Neil looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Timmons cracks Neil with a nice body shot. Neil blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Timmons breaks from the clinch.

Aguilar misses with an uppercut. Funke saw that one coming. Aguilar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Funke. Aguilar gets a double leg takedown into Funke's guard. Funke controls Aguilar momentarily but Aguilar frees himself. Funke is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Aguilar postures up in Funke's guard and throws a big left but Funke blocks it. Funke looking for a sweep. Not yet Funke, not yet. Aguilar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aguilar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Aguilar is looking to advance position but Funke has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Aguilar is trying to escape the mount.

Bob Koff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koff scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Koff creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cook sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cook tries to improve position but can't. Cook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Koff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Koff moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Koff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cook keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koff drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cook gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Vernon Cook dominated that fourth round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Cook connects with a body shot. A cross from Cook lands. A big left from Cook misses. Cook throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cook scores with the left hand. Koff knows he should have avoided that one. Koff looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cook is fending him off so far but Koff persists. Nope, Cook circles away and we're back to standing. Koff shoots in but no luck this time. Nice sprawl there from Cook as Koff shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Koff. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koff fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cook lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cook. Cook lands with a straight right. Koff didn't see that one coming. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Koff looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Koff. Cook fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Cook misses with a body shot.
Koff moves out of range as Cook strikes. Vernon Cook seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cook throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Koff avoids the body shot from Cook.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook thuds his right hand into Koff's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Cook doesn't manage to clinch there - Koff circles away.
Koff throws a half hearted mid kick. Cook bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Koff's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Cook stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cook wants it to stay on the feet. Cook tests Koff's chin there with a solid looking shot. Koff fails with the takedown. Horrible takedown by Koff or perhaps it was just good defense by Cook which made him look bad. Koff swats away the attempt to clinch by Cook. Cook scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Cook. Bob Koff is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cook throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koff sees it coming and avoids it easily. Koff shoots in for a takedown but Cook shows good takedown defense. Cook misses with a wild body shot. Cook keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cook tries to clinch there but Koff circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! And that's the end of the fight! Vernon Cook comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cook has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Vernon Cook wins by unanimous decision! Vernon Cook is the new light heavyweight champion! A relieved looking Vernon Cook thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
