Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Seagal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seagal comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I taught Anderson that kick kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Steven Seagal will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Emerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steven Seagal! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emerson feints and as Seagal raises his hands in defense, Emerson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Emerson wants to control from the top but Seagal keeps moving. Emerson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Emerson throws a big elbow that misses. Seagal keeping moving, preventing Emerson from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Seagal working for a triangle but Emerson defends it easily.
Emerson prevents Seagal from getting back to his feet. Seagal tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Seagal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Emerson defends well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Emerson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Emerson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Emerson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Seagal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Emerson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Emerson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emerson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Emerson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seagal on the ground. Emerson is stalling in the full guard. Seagal wants to get back to his feet but Emerson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Emerson wants to control from the top but Seagal keeps moving. Emerson wants to pass the guard but Seagal is keeping the position. Seagal keeping moving, preventing Emerson from controlling successfully. Emerson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sam Emerson just wasn't active enough. Emerson lands a left and a right that send Seagal crashing to the mat, dazed. Emerson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Emerson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Seagal is still in real trouble! Can Emerson finish him? Emerson wants to control but Seagal is keeping him busy. Seagal seems to have recovered his senses. Seagal wants to get back to his feet. Seagal gets full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Seagal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Emerson is pushing down on Seagal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Seagal is fighting to maintain full guard but Emerson has managed to sneak the leg through. Emerson wants to advance to full mount but Seagal doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Seagal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Emerson is one step ahead there. Seagal keeping full guard, as Emerson tries to pass.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Seagal throws a hook but Emerson blocks it. Seagal takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Seagal dives in and grabs Emerson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Emerson pushes down on Seagal's head and hops out. Nice body punch from Emerson. Emerson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Emerson throws a push kick but Seagal slaps the foot to one side. Seagal takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Emerson tries to clinch there but Seagal circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Oooooh!!! Emerson has knocked Seagal down with a huge combo! Emerson steps away and waves a wobbly Seagal back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Emerson drops Seagal with a straight right hand, right on the button! Emerson follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Emerson! In defeat, Steven Seagal stepped up to the mic, saying 'This makes me want to put Anderson in the patented wrist lock.'.

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ravi Shankoli! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hummel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Shankoli as he connects with a hook. Hummel takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hummel gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Shankoli. Shankoli takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Billy Hummel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shankoli cracks a nice hook into Hummel's ribs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shankoli showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hummel.
Hummel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shankoli manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A jab from Shankoli finds it's way through Hummel's defenses. Hummel throws a right and a left that both miss. Hummel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shankoli pinned against the cage. Shankoli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Shankoli uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hummel has time to react. Hummel throws a combination that misses and Shankoli counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hummel thinking. Hummel is looking to land body kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shankoli cracks Hummel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Shankoli dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hummel misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Shankoli cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shankoli scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Hummel is breathing heavily. Hummel throws a nice looking combination but Shankoli bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shankoli lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Hummel shoots in looking for a takedown. Shankoli tries to sprawl out of it but Hummel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shankoli manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shankoli lands a nice hook to Hummel's body. Hummel takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Shankoli throws a shot to the body.
Shankoli is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shankoli connects with a body shot. Hummel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shankoli connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hummel scrambles back to his feet. Shankoli has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Hummel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Shankoli thuds a left hand into Hummel's body. A shot to the liver by Shankoli. Beautiful body shot. Shankoli ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Hummel takes a shot right to the bread basket. Shankoli feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hummels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Hummel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shankoli lands with a nice body punch. Hummel takes a shot right to the bread basket. Shankoli drops Hummel with a huge uppercut! Hummel drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Shankoli is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard. James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. James working for a triangle but Smith defends it easily.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace. Smith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well. Smith is stalling in the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily. James is breathing heavily. James is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Smith slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've been hearing good reports from James's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Smith not doing much here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James wants to hold on but Smith pushes him away. Smith content just to control the position here. Smith avoids the attempt from James to control. Smith controlling the position easily from mount. Smith landing strikes, looking to finish! James is in a horrible position here. Smith smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smith misses with an uppercut. James saw that one coming. James throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Smith staying out of range there. Smith slips a jab and a cross from James.
Ricardo Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. James slips a straight right by Smith. Smith takes the fight into the clinch. Smith taking a breather. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. James lands a shot to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ricardo Smith decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Killmaz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt St Lawrence. Killmaz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

St Lawrence throws a body punch but Killmaz moves out of range. Killmaz throws a head kick that misses. Killmaz cracks St Lawrence with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. St Lawrence looks to score with a jab to the body but Killmaz is just out of range. St Lawrence looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Killmaz connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A telegraphed right hand from Killmaz misses the target. A looping hook to the body misses from St Lawrence. Killmaz does a little dance to reset his feet. St Lawrence scores with a body shot.
Merkan Killmaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Killmaz with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling St Lawrence to score with a decent uppercut. Killmaz moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Killmaz. That's going to slow St Lawrence down. St Lawrence looks winded! Killmaz scoring well with a low kick there.
Killmaz turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Killmaz throws a sloppy head kick and St Lawrence moves out of range easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Killmaz.

That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Killmaz. Killmaz lands a leg kick that knocks St Lawrence off balance momentarily. A nice leg kick lands there from Killmaz. Killmaz lands a nice looking kick to the body. St Lawrence takes a step back to recover. This has been an exciting period of action! St Lawrence has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Killmaz. We've been told by Killmaz's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. St Lawrence tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Good leg kick by Killmaz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Killmaz. Killmaz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Killmaz misses with a head kick.
Killmaz moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Killmaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Killmaz goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Killmaz connects with a leg kick. St Lawrence looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grayson tries to close the distance and clinch but Rabilla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Grayson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rabilla. Rabilla connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Grayson momentarily.
It looks like Richard Grayson has been cut. Grayson tries to clinch up but Rabilla circles away and keeps his distance. Grayson dives in for a single leg takedown but Rabilla sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Grayson wants a takedown but no success here.
Rabilla is pushing Grayson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. The crowd are getting on Rabilla's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. We've been hearing reports that Grayson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Rabilla wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rabilla successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rabilla wants to stand but Grayson is controlling the position. Grayson with a flurry of punches that miss. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grayson stops Rabilla from standing up. Grayson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Grayson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Rabilla should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - DawTang looks like he's thinking about clinching though. DawTang shoots in and drives through. Walker sprawls well. Walker gets a clinch. Walker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. DawTang slips under a jab. Walker misses with a wild combination.
Walker throws a combination that misses and DawTang counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. DawTang is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walker sees it coming and defends easily. Walker tries to kick DawTang off but DawTang keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. DawTang is looking for a kimura here.
