Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Joner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fifn Hogj! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hogj tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hogj somewhat. Hogj shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Joner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hogj closes the distance looking to clinch and Joner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hogj comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hogj throws a left and a right that both miss
and Joner counters with a left to the body. Hogj takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hogj has a takedown stuffed. Jay Joner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fifn Hogj. Hogj closes the distance and clinches up with Joner, looking for a takedown. Hogj pushes Joner against the cage but Joner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hogj takes a shot to the body in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joner lands a jab to Hogj's midsection. Joner wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Joner is looking to wear down Hogj with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Joner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Joner wants it to stay on the feet. Hogj is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Joner's half guard. Hogj wants to take a breather but Joner is having none of it. Joner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hogj on the ground. Joner has his hands clasped together around Hogj's back. He's all about the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joner has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Joner. Joner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hogj shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hogj was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joner keeping his opponent close. Hogj stands up and beckons Joner to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joner throws a leg kick which misses Hogj's front leg but catches the back leg as Hogj tries to avoid it. Hogj shoots in and drives through. Joner sprawls well. Hogj pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hogj is trying hard to land a takedown here. Joner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hogj is defended easily by Joner. Hogj looks winded! Joner cracks Hogj with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Hogj walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joner moves into the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Joner stalling the fight.
Joner is leaning against Hogj and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Joner lands with a light punch inside. Joner lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hogj backwards. Joner has Hogj pushed against the cage. Hogj goes for a takedown in the clinch but Joner prevents it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Joner dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Joner tests Hogj's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hogj looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Joner is fending him off so far but Hogj persists. Nope, Joner circles away and we're back to standing. Fifn Hogj seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Joner's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hogj under the eye. Hogj has Joner up against the cage in a clinch.
Joner effectively controlling the action here. Joner lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Joner lands a shoulder strike. Hogj is trying to push Joner away but Joner has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Hogj working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogj letting Joner take a breather here. Hogj fails to pull guard.
Hogj wants a takedown.
Jay Joner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fifn Hogj. Joner slowing the pace effectively. Hogj looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hogj tries to pull guard but Joner won't allow it.

Joner lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Hogj tries to circle away but Joner has him pinned against the cage. Joner just leaning against Hogj, taking a breather. Hogj is looking for a takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hogj is trying to force a seperation but Joner has the dominant position. Hogj tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Joner smiles and moves away.
Hogj forces Joner back against the cage and clinches. Hogj jumps guard and drags Joner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hogj is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Joner has Hogj pulled in close to control his posture. Hogj trying to control but Joner is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joner is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Joner. Nice takedown defense from Joner. No joy for Hogj on that attempt. Jay Joner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Joner throws a series of strikes that have Hogj backpedaling.
Joner ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Joner with a nice cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Joner, right into the meat.
Hogj is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Joner.
Hogj is rocked!
It looks like Fifn Hogj has been cut. Jay Joner is winning the standup battle so far. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Joner is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Hogj like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Hogj from another fist facial!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carr showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nakai.
Nakai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Carr fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Carr looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Nakai is trying to maintain the position but Carr is very close to passing his half guard. Carr is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Carr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nakai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carr. Nakai is positioning himself well to prevent Carr advancing to mount.

Carr has gone for a leg lock! Nakai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carr's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakai throws an elbow that misses. Carr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nakai's guard. Nice move by Carr! Carr trying to control but Nakai is working from the bottom. Nakai looking to control.
Carr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nakai dives on top into guard. Nakai is stalling in the full guard. Carr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakai's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakai is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carr advances to half guard. Carr is looking for a kimura but Nakai is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carr to get the leverage. Nakai wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nakai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Carr is trying for a kimura here. Nakai looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Carr wins by kimura!
