The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dimagiba shoots for a takedown but Daddy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Daddy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dimagiba looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dimagiba throws a nice looking combination but Daddy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Daddy tries to clinch so Dimagiba counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lucic throws a jab when Hagen was well out of range. Lucic throws a hook but Hagen avoids it easily. Lucic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lars Hagen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milan Lucic. Lucic throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rousey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Johnson gets back to half guard. Johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnson. Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rousey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rousey is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rousey is one step ahead there. Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rousey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Johnson is tightening it up a little... Rousey has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rousey reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rousey taps out! Nice BJJ there by Johnson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez lands a two punch combo.
Mendez throws an overhand right that lands on Mcdermott's shoulder, as Mcdermott tries to avoid the shot. Mendez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've been hearing reports that Mcdermott has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Mendez misses with a takedown and Mendez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mcdermott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mendez did well to prevent Mcdermott getting side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mcdermott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mcdermott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mcdermott takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. This has been an exciting period of action! Mcdermott is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez is trying to maintain the position but Mcdermott is very close to passing his half guard. Mendez pushes Mcdermott off looking to stand but Mcdermott dives back in and keeps control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sithole bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Sithole trying to control the position but Cartwright is working away. Sithole is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cartwright will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Sithole creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Cartwright takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sithole looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cartwright is avoiding damage well.
Sithole trying to control the action but Cartwright is working from the bottom. Cartwright is trying to control Sithole's posture but Sithole avoids it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sithole scoring with punches and elbows. Sithole tries to advance to mount but Cartwright denies him. Sandwich shoots in and drives through. Stevenson sprawls well. Stevenson cracks a nice hook into Sandwich's ribs. Sandwich tries for a takedown but Stevenson circles away easily and Stevenson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bear Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Stevenson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sandwich circles away quickly and effectively. Sandwich gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Stevenson to counter with a crisp jab. Stevenson lands an overhand right. Sandwich shoots in and gets a takedown into Stevenson's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Stevenson is pulling down on Sandwich's head. It's preventing any offense from Sandwich, at least for the moment. Stevenson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sandwich gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sandwich stopping the sweep attempt from Stevenson.

He has the arm isolated but Stevenson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. He's shot a load of snot all down Sandwich's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
