That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evander Mackenzie.

Hunter batters Griffin with a massive right followed by a huge left! Griffin is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Hunter lands a final crushing right hand to drop Griffin to the mat with a gruesome thud! Hunter is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Taylor closes the distance and clinches up with Ely, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes Ely against the cage but Ely circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ely prevents Taylor from getting back to his feet.
Ely trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Taylor wants to hit a switch here but Ely passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Taylor there!

Taylor wants to control but Ely is having none of it.

Ely is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Taylor is surviving well by controlling Ely's body position as best he can.
Taylor is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ely trying to control but Taylor is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor is looking to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ely wants to finish this one by submission but Taylor is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ely.

Ely goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taylor is on top in guard.
Taylor trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Taylor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ely kicks Taylor off and gets to his feet.
Taylor fails to land with a series of punches.
Ely pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Taylor scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Taylor misses with a right hand

and Ely counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Taylor!
Ely creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ely lands a decent elbow from side control.
Ely passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Taylor!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor is bucking up trying to escape but Ely cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Taylor tries to hold on but Ely pushes him away.
Taylor is squirming around, avoiding Ely's attempts to control the action.
Taylor regains half guard.
Herald Taylor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Taylor wants to improve his position but Ely is controlling well.

Ely is looking for a kimura but Taylor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ely to get the leverage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ely wants to control but Taylor is keeping him busy.
Taylor won't allow Ely to pass to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joesph Ely showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ely, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
