16 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Dominguez ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Worner! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dominguez shoots in looking for a takedown. Worner tries to sprawl out of it but Dominguez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Worner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Worner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Worner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dominguez counters with a head kick. That will keep Worner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Worner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Josh Dominguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Worner. Worner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? He's pushed Worner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Horrible takedown by Worner or perhaps it was just good defense by Dominguez which made him look bad. Worner is fighting it off but Dominguez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Worner's guard against the cage. That's better than Bryan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bryan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Worner tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bryan easily slips into full mount! Worner really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
