Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geeves Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kickstart My Heart kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Geeves Armstrong told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Armstrong!
Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Penn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Penn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Armstrong which made him look bad.

Armstrong fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Penn has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Armstrong connects with a good right hand that stumbles Penn. Penn circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Armstrong cracks Penn with a hook to the temple - Penn is on wobbly legs here! Armstrong swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Penn falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Armstrong wins by TKO!

Whyte slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
No joy there for Whyte, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Whyte feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Smith sprawling to the canvas! Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Whyte finish him?!
Whyte slips under a jab from Smith.
Smith seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Smith tries to get into range but Whyte steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Smith! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Whyte scores the big KO victory!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Boulami to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
