Donald Duckke decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Abedisi Mahamud stepped up to the mic, saying '3 in a row.. I feel desperate, maybe fighting aint my thing! When my contract ends, i might be done! '.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Layser lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karekin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karekin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Horrible takedown by Layser or perhaps it was just good defense by Karekin which made him look bad.

Takemura on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pierce. Pierce obviously looking to wear him down.

Pierce gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Takemura is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pierce pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pierce lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Pierce tries to throw a body punch but Takemura avoids it by throwing Pierce back against the cage.
Pierce gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Takemura.
Pierce doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A nice left hand lands by Pierce.

Takemura drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daisuke Takemura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pierce gets through Takemura's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Pierce manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Takemura has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takemura is looking for a sweep. Pierce is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pierce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Takemura keeps working.

Takemura throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Pierce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takemura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Takemura lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pierce!

Takemura cracks Pierce with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takemura has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pierce's face.
Takemura postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pierce looks a forlorn figure.
Pierce is bucking up trying to escape but Takemura cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Pierce really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Takemura lands with some strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierce tries to hold on but Takemura pushes him away.
Takemura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pierce can't escape the position.
Pierce is in a horrible position here. Takemura smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Pierce is trying desperately to improve position.

Pierce wants to control but Takemura is having none of it.
Takemura landing strikes from the mount and Pierce is in trouble!

It looks like Lucas Pierce has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takemura softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Pierce is out cold! Takemura jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daisuke Takemura!
