The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leer shoots in looking for a takedown but Fertus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Leer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Leer doesn't manage to clinch there - Fertus circles away.
Leer throws a sloppy head kick
and Leer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Fertus clinches up against the cage.
Fertus is pushing Leer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Spishak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Spishak misses with a jab, cross combination.

Spishak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Smith's defenses.

Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spishak just stands there and leans against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ives lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sendoh moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sendoh ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Ives out cold! The fight is over!

Grimes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Manson dives in and grabs Grimes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grimes pushes down on Manson's head and hops out.
Manson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Grimes moves into the clinch.

Manson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Grimes can't fight it off and eventually Manson manages to take the fight to the floor. Grimes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Grimes has his foot on Manson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Manson works his way back into a safe position though.

Grimes is looking for a triangle but Manson pushes his legs off easily.
Manson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Manson working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Grimes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A less than humble Aldo Amado misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
