Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charles Benedict! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee checks a leg kick. The fighters circling - Benedict throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Benedict throws a head kick that misses. Lee seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Benedict swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benedict uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.
Lee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Benedict is just out of range. Benedict thows a body shot but no joy. Benedict ducks under a wild hook from Lee. That kick from Benedict tenderised Lee's leg. Lee is trying to keep his angry face on. Lee misses with a left hand and Benedict counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Benedict scoring well with a low kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benedict throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Lee throws an overhand right that lands on Benedict's shoulder, as Benedict tries to avoid the shot. A good leg kick by Lee. Lee misses with a head kick.
A swing and a miss from Lee. Benedict throws a leg kick that is checked and Lee counters with a flying knee. Nice. Lee misses with a hook. Benedict ducked under it nicely. Lee connects with a good right hand that stumbles Benedict. Benedict circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Benedict lands with a nice body kick. Benedict on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lee misses with a hook
and Benedict makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lee really felt that one!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Benedict keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lee. Bruce Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lee takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lee throws a lazy uppercut
and Benedict counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Benedict looks to land a body kick but Lee moved away. Lee lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Benedict moves out of range of the body kick. Benedict tries to land a front kick but Lee steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Benedict throws a sloppy head kick and Lee moves out of range easily. Benedict misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lee throws a nice outside leg kick. Charles Benedict seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Benedict.
Benedict lands a leg kick that knocks Lee off balance momentarily. Lee throws out a loose jab but Benedict uses good head movement to avoid it. Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet. Benedict shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bruce Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Benedict. Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benedict moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Benedict fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lee misses the jab. A big right from Benedict misses. A big right from Lee misses. Benedict tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Benedict takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lee misses with an attempted mid kick.

and Benedict counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Charles Benedict will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lee looks to land a left hand but Benedict moved out of range nicely. Benedict takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lee slips a jab from Benedict. That kick from Benedict tenderised Lee's leg. Lee is trying to keep his angry face on. Benedict keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lee connects with a body shot that sends Benedict's belly button to the back. Benedict is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Benedict takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Benedict takes a shot right to the bread basket. An inside leg kick from Lee misses. Benedict defending well as Lee loads up on a big left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benedict tries to work over Lee's front leg with a kick but Lee checks it. An inside leg kick from Benedict misses. Benedict throws a body kick that misses and Lee counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lee throws a hook but Benedict avoids it easily. Benedict punishes Lee's body with a nice straight punch. Lee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lee, as that shot connected.
Benedict fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee. Benedict moves out of range as Lee strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Benedict turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Benedict with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Benedict rushes Lee and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lee is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lee. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Benedict. Lee lands with a short head shot on the inside. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lee misses with the head strike.

Lee lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Benedict backwards. Benedict takes a shot to the head. Benedict lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lee or not. Benedict misses with a hook to the ribs.
Benedict's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Benedict makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Lee breaks from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Benedict throws a leg kick and Lee counters with a nice uppercut. Lee tries to bum rush Benedict with a series of wild strikes but Benedict uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lee throws a front kick aimed at Benedict's knee but Benedict avoids it well. Benedict is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lee rather than just go for the knockout. Benedict throws a head kick that misses. A head kick by Lee misses and Benedict counters with a nice leg kick. Benedict shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well. Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Benedict has taken the fight to the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lee. Lee lands on the inside with an uppercut. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Benedict pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A slapping leg kick lands for Benedict.
Benedict thows a body kick. Lee tries to catch it but that hurt him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Benedict avoids the body shot from Lee.
Benedict doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lee throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bruce Lee is winning the standup battle so far. Benedict throws a leg kick and Lee counters with a head kick. That will keep Benedict thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bruce Lee will probably get the nod. That's time! Lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Benedict throws a leg kick and Lee counters with a slapping leg kick. Benedict ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away. Benedict changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Benedict manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Benedict steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lee. No luck for Benedict with that takedown attempt. Lee looks to land a right hand but Benedict moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benedict throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range. Benedict tries to land a front kick but Lee steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Benedict tries to clinch up but Lee circles away and keeps his distance. Lee lands with a slapping head kick.

Benedict throws a right hand that Lee ducks under and follows up with a left that Lee also avoids with ease. Lee checks a low kick from Benedict. Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Benedict moves away. Good work by Lee as he checks the leg kick. Benedict tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Benedict misses with a body kick. Lee throws a solid leg kick but Benedict takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lee. Lee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Benedict fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Benedict takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses. Benedict throws a looping overhand right but Lee ducks down to avoid it. Lee throws a big shot that misses. Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benedict's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lee under the eye. Lee connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Benedict's hands. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lee keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Benedict. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A swing and a miss from Lee. Lee is looking to slow Benedict down with leg kicks.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bruce Lee. I think Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
