Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marvin Swift! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Foxtrot Flannigan! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swift shoots in for a takedown but Flannigan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Flannigan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Swift sprawls well initially but Flannigan persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Swift wants to get back to full guard. Flannigan trying to control from half guard but Swift is working away. Swift is looking to get back to full guard here but Flannigan has managed to pass to side control instead. Swift tries to buck Flannigan off but Flannigan is having none of it. Flannigan looks up at the clock and then as Swift takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Flannigan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Flannigan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swift has a closed guard, preventing Flannigan from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swift wants to control the position but Flannigan says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Swift is trying to get back to full guard. Swift might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Flannigan winds up and cracks Swift with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Swift is trying to control Flannigan's posture but Flannigan avoids it.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Flannigan is trying to control. Swift wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Flannigan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Flannigan wants to pass the guard but Swift is defending well. Flannigan is keen to just control but Swift is a slippery customer. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Swift wants to stand back up but Flannigan manages to pass into side control.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Church tries to clinch but Woodley is having none of it. Church shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodley tries to sprawl out of it but Church keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Church will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Church misses with a two punch combination.
Church is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Church shoots in for a takedown but Woodley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Mono! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melone throws a right hand that misses
and Mono counters with a nice uppercut. Melone swats away the attempt to clinch by Mono. Mono looks to land a left hand but Melone moved out of range nicely. Melone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mono paws at him with a jab and circles away. Good standup being displayed there by Mono as he connects with a hook. Mono lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Patches Melone has been cut. Melone goes for a double leg but Mono avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mono continues to drive forward. A short right from Mono. Melone misses with a punch to the body.
Melone tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mono smiles and moves away.
Melone is looking to clinch. Melone drops his hands momentarily and Mono takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Excellent takedown into side control there by Melone. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Melone decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Nice shot lands for Mono. Melone misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A good leg kick by Mono. Mono connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mono scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Melone doesn't seem bothered though. Mike Mono is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Donk. Mono catches Melone right on the button with a cross. Melone tries to move into range but Mono moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

The fight stays on the outside here - Melone looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mono lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Melone shoots in for a double leg but Mono sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mono lands with an overhand left. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mono, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Melone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mono avoids it really well and circles away. Decent striking displayed by Mono there. Mono works Melone's body with a nice hook. Melone darts in looking for a takedown but Mono gets double underhooks and turns Melone into the cage. Mono escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mono tries to clinch up and Melone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mono's guard now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mono is pulling down on Melone's head to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Mono dominated that round. The cut man is working on Patches Melone's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Melone misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mono.
Mono swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Melone. Mono connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The fight stays on the outside here - Mono looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mono tries to close the distance and clinch but Melone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice uppercut there from Mono. Mono listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Melone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mono sprawls well. Mono wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Melone gets slowly back to his feet. Melone takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Melone is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Mono digs a good body shot into Melone's ribs. Melone shoots for a double leg takedown but Mono sprawls well. He's pushed Melone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patches Melone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mono wants to clinch up but Melone keeps it at a distance. Melone motions for Mono to come forward. Melone throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mono scores with a nice strike. Mono scores with a sloppy right hand. Melone should have avoided that one. Patches Melone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Good standup being displayed there by Mono as he connects with a hook. Mono scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Mono lands a nice shot that snaps Melone's head back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Melone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mono can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Melone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melone has his feet on Mono's thighs here. He's pushed Mono off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mono screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
