The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qasi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chicken circles away quickly and effectively.

Qasi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Qasi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chicken is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chicken has escaped and now he's on top!
Qasi lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Qasi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Kennedy misses with a hook
and Stewart counters with a left and a right that stings Kennedy.

Kennedy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stewart to the mat! Stewart manages to get full guard.
