I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Juan Gonzalez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez misses with a body kick. A jab from Gonzales misses. Gonzalez has Gonzales up against the cage in a clinch.
Gonzales tries a knee to the head but Gonzalez blocks it.
Gonzales scores with an uppercut up the middle. Gonzales misses with a knee strike.
Gonzales scores with a shot to the side of Gonzalez's head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gonzales creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter cracks a nice hook into Stone's ribs. Walter misses with a head kick.
Walter throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stone takes a swing at Walter's ribcage but misses. Walter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Walter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Walter feints a jab promting Stone to slip. Walter then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stone slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Walter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Stone tries to sprawl but Walter drives through with a takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walter is working for a submission of some sort.
Stone wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Walter. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stone tries to buck Walter off but Walter is having none of it. Walter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working. Walter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Stone tries to close the distance and clinch but Walter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Stone dodges the punch combination from Walter.
Walter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walter shoots in but Stone avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stone fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stone gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Walter trying to control the position from guard on top but Stone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Walter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stone is looking to stand up but Walter isn't so interested in that idea. Stone keeping moving, preventing Walter from controlling successfully.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walter is defended easily by Stone. Stone fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walter, pushing him back against the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Stone - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Stone unloads a knee to the mid-section. Walter lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Walter tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stone avoids it. A close third round but Ben Stone just about did enough to take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Stone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Walter is working away from the top position though. Walter content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Stone is staying active underneath Walter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Walter seems to be working for a kimura but Stone defends the submission attempt. Walter wants to control but Stone is keeping him busy. Walter prevents Stone from standing back up.

Stone is pulling down on Walter's head. It's preventing any offense from Walter, at least for the moment.

Walter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Stone tries to improve position but can't. Stone wants to control but Walter postures up. Walter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Walter tries for a kimura but Stone is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter prevents Stone from escaping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter trying to control the position but Stone is working away. Walter has an Americana. Stone didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Walter is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Walter hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 5, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mark Walter! A less than humble Mark Walter misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

Milosevic has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Poon misses with a shot to the body and Milosevic counters with a low kick, right behind Poon 's knee. Milosevic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Poon. Poon fails with a takedown attempt. A head kick from Milosevic lands but Poon takes it in his stride. Poon misses with a straight left. Decent striking displayed by Milosevic there. Poon throws a shot from downtown. Milosevic moves away and avoids it. Poon has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Elite Dojo [21 Coaches / 64 cap] in the buildup to the fight. A combination from Poon does no damage. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Poon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lonnie Poon. That's going to take a lot out of him. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Rey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Carlos Rey has got the better of the ground game so far. Cooper wants to get back to full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cooper keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Rey is nestled in close to Cooper, controlling him well. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ngo shoots in but no luck this time. Ngo swings away with a leg kick that misses. Ngo looks for a takedown but Burgess sprawls well. Burgess rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ngo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ngo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Burgess manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Burgess thuds his shin into the meat of Ngo's side. Burgess misses with a wild combination.
Ngo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Ngo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burgess tries to bum rush Ngo with a series of wild strikes but Ngo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dime fails in his attempt to clinch. Miyazawa dives in for a single leg takedown but Dime sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dime is trying to trip Miyazawa. He has hold of a leg but Miyazawa is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dime persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dime throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miyazawa works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Miyazawa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dime looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dime is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Miyazawa is controlling him well. Miyazawa misses with the ground and pound. Dime throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Jonny Dime has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonny Dime. I think Miyazawa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Shamrock was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Willems looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shamrock throws a good cross that connects.

Willems pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Shamrock with a body punch. A glancing blow. Willems on the wrong end of a nice jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Willems just misses with a punch to the body.

18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ten Sixteen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Eddy Maiden! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maiden uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sixteen. Sixteen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Maiden defends well and Sixteen ends up having to push Maiden into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Sixteen. Sixteen blocks a body shot from Maiden. Maiden lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Sixteen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Maiden smiles and moves away.
Maiden is looking to chop away at Sixteen's legs. Sixteen looks to throw the jab but Maiden is out of range. Maiden throws a low kick, looking for Sixteen's leg but Sixteen calmly moves out of range. Sixteen tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Sixteen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Maiden thows a left - swing and a miss! Sixteen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sixteen throws a leg kick but Maiden checks it. Maiden connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sixteen's hands. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sixteen misses with a low kick. Sixteen lands a leg kick that knocks Maiden off balance momentarily. Sixteen tries for a takedown but Maiden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ten Sixteen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maiden throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sixteen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sixteen. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Maiden avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maiden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sixteen is one step ahead there. Sixteen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sixteen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Sixteen throwing strikes from guard but Maiden blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sixteen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sixteen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maiden swivels though and keeps the full guard. Maiden is adopting a defensive guard.

Sixteen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Maiden takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Sixteen misses with a lunging right hand
and Maiden counters with a nice uppercut. Sixteen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Maiden napping and manages to drive through into side control! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sixteen working the head with strikes. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sixteen lands a decent elbow from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sixteen tries to score with some ground and pound. Maiden controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Maiden manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sixteen's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ten Sixteen dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
That kick from Sixteen tenderised Maiden's leg. Maiden is trying to keep his angry face on. Sixteen fails with a takedown attempt. A decent looking body kick lands there for Sixteen. Sixteen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maiden tries to close the distance and clinch but Sixteen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Maiden moves out of range as Sixteen throws a body kick.

Sixteen is looking to advance position but Maiden has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Maiden scoring with strikes but Sixteen is staying in there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maiden lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Maiden trying to control but Sixteen is having none of it. Sixteen is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Ten Sixteen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Maiden with a couple of short strikes. Maiden sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Maiden can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sixteen is looking to escape. Maiden takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Maiden crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sixteen - the referee stops the clock and Maiden gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sixteen. Maiden manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Sixteen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sixteen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Maiden. Sixteen feints and then cracks Maiden's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maiden down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ten Sixteen will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
