Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nacho Beristain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shawn Braxton! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beristain shoots and misses and Braxton counters by moving into the clinch. Braxton has picked Beristain up - he's going for a ride! Braxton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Braxton connects with a nice short shot to Beristain's temple. Beristain looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Beristain is looking for a sweep. Braxton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Beristain is trying to stand back up but Braxton is controlling him
Beristain looking for submissions off his back. Braxton takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Beristain won't allow Braxton to pass to mount. Braxton prevents Beristain from standing back up.
Braxton is nestled in close to Beristain, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Braxton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beristain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This has been an exciting period of action! Braxton is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Beristain is looking for a sweep. Braxton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Braxton lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Braxton working the head and body with strikes. Braxton lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Beristain quite badly. Beristain pulls Braxton in close trying to recover. Braxton postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Beristain on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Beristain doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shawn Braxton!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guseinov is looking to clinch but Steel is avoiding it.
Guseinov is looking to clinch. Steel throws a lazy right hand but Guseinov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Guseinov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Guseinov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Guseinov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Steel to score an easy takedown into full guard. Guseinov can't keep his opponent in guard - Steel advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ground and pound from Steel. Guseinov punching from the bottom.
Steel tries to pass to full mount but Guseinov defends it. Guseinov wants to control but Steel is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guseinov tries to lock up and control but Steel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Steel lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Steel dominating with strikes here. Steel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Guseinov's face.
Guseinov is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Steel locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Guseinov is forced to tap!
