The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily. Smith looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from ortiz, before circling back to the center of the mat. A nice inside leg kick there by Smith. That's going to slow ortiz down. Nice defenses there by Smith. Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.
It looks like Matt Smith has been cut. A swing and a miss from ortiz. ortiz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith. ortiz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. ortiz throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily. ortiz moves out of range as Smith strikes. ortiz drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Smith's head, knocking him out cold! ortiz is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyle scores with a jab.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gambitinoa Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Gambitinoa Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Walker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gambitinoa Jr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Walker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gambitinoa Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Walker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gambitinoa Jr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gambitinoa Jr striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hathaway feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hathaway passes Pursey's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Pursey is staying active underneath Hathaway, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hathaway has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hathaway jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pursey manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pursey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Pursey manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hathaway thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ness fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Swagger has his takedown stuffed and Ness counters by clinching up. Ness is trying to drag Swagger to the mat but Swagger just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Ness goes for a takedown in the clinch but Swagger prevents it.
