Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viper Apex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bragainho Prado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Viper Apex had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Prado showed some decent athleticism there.
Prado is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Apex sees it coming and defends easily.

Prado looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Apex trying to get back to full guard but Prado takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Apex tries to hold on but Prado postures up.
Prado is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Apex to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Apex shrugs it off. Prado is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Prado with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Prado working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Apex defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Prado. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Apex tries to hold on but Prado pushes him away. Apex is working to get back to half guard.
Prado jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Apex manages to avoid the submission attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Apex tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Prado wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Apex manages to get back to half guard. Apex definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Prado is trying to work for a kimura but Apex is defending well.

Prado is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Apex is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bragainho Prado! A very excited looking Bragainho Prado made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quinn stuffs the takedown. McCartney misses the shot to the body. McCartney has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Game Of Thrones MMA. LA in the buildup to the fight. A shot to the liver by Quinn. Beautiful body shot. Quinn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Quinn throws a jab when McCartney was well out of range. McCartney avoids the body shot from Quinn.

McCartney rushes Quinn and presses him up against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. McCartney lands a shoulder strike. McCartney slowing the pace effectively. McCartney can't get the takedown.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McCartney takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A frustrated look appears on Quinn's face as he tries to break the clinch. McCartney leaning his opponent against the cage. McCartney is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Quinn is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon McCartney. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCartney wants a takedown.

McCartney has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Quinn after a bit of a struggle. A frustrated look appears on Quinn's face as he tries to break the clinch. The referee calls for McCartney to work.
McCartney seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Quinn is pressed up against the cage. McCartney has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Quinn down to the mat. Quinn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Quinn checks a leg kick nicely. Quinn cracks a nice hook into McCartney's ribs.
McCartney closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCartney has hold of one of Quinn's legs. Quinn is fighting the takedown attempt but McCartney gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. McCartney is looking to work some ground and pound but Quinn has wrist control.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. McCartney throwing strikes from guard but Quinn blocks nicely. McCartney tries to free his leg and advance position but Quinn is retaining full guard. Quinn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McCartney is controlling him. McCartney controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McCartney throwing strikes but missing. Quinn is looking to stand up but McCartney isn't so interested in that idea. McCartney is stalling in the full guard. Quinn wants to stand and escape but McCartney is having none of it.

 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McCartney uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Quinn. McCartney closes the distance and clinches up with Quinn, looking for a takedown. McCartney pushes Quinn against the cage but Quinn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Quinn has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Quinn connects with a body shot that sends McCartney's belly button to the back. Nice jab there from Quinn. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quinn lands with an overhand left. McCartney's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Quinn connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McCartney scrambles back to his feet. McCartney on the wrong end of a nice jab. Quinn lands a lovely overhand right. Quinn misses with an uppercut. McCartney saw that one coming.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Quinn enables McCartney to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Quinn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Quinn is looking to stand up but McCartney isn't so interested in that idea. McCartney showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McCartney keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Quinn's head. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alastar Quinn will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McCartney thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McCartney stops Quinn from getting back to his feet.
McCartney has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McCartney cracks Quinn with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
 It looks like Alastar Quinn has been cut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. McCartney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. McCartney wants to control the pace but Quinn is squirming around nicely. The referee warns Quinn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Quinn is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. McCartney has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Quinn's face.
McCartney landing strikes from the mount. Quinn wants to try and get back to his feet. Quinn is breathing heavily. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McCartney cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
 Quinn is rocked!
 That has opened up Alastar Quinn's cut even more. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Whack. That's a big, big shot from McCartney! Quinn is out cold! This one is all over!

Alexander Jo moves to clinch but Alexander Jo breaks away and Alexander Jo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Alexander Jo fails in his attempt to clinch. Alexander Jo throws a head kick but Alexander Jo moves out of range.
Alexander Jo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Alexander Jo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Penn is working hard here to advance position.
