Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronny Stone Wall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Thornton! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thornton closes the distance and pushes Stone Wall back into the cage. Stone Wall is trying to trip Thornton. He has hold of a leg but Thornton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stone Wall persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Stone Wall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stone Wall looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stone Wall in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thornton can do anything to dispel that myth. Stone Wall postures up in Thornton's guard and throws a big left but Thornton blocks it. Stone Wall trying to control the position from guard on top but Thornton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stone Wall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thornton's guard. Stone Wall content to control rather than advance. Thornton wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone Wall lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stone Wall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stone Wall prevents Thornton from standing back up.
Stone Wall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thornton tries to get to full guard but Stone Wall has control of the leg. Stone Wall is nestled in close to Thornton, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Stone Wall thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thornton's head. Thornton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stone Wall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stone Wall is looking to advance position but Thornton won't allow it. Stone Wall content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Thornton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stone Wall throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Stone Wall wants to pass to mount but Thornton is defending the position. Stone Wall performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Thornton misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stone Wall kicks Thornton off and gets to his feet. Thornton takes the fight into the clinch. Stone Wall jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thornton walks away with a smile on his face. Stone Wall wants to control but Thornton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Thornton is keen to just control but Stone Wall is a slippery customer. Stone Wall pushes Thornton off looking to stand but Thornton dives back in and keeps control.
Thornton is stalling here. Stone Wall is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Thornton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Stone Wall has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Stone Wall has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Thornton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stone Wall, pushing him back against the cage. Thornton lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stone Wall wants to control but Thornton is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thornton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stone Wall looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Stone Wall wants to get back to his feet. Thornton wants to free his trapped foot but Stone Wall is holding on for dear life with his legs. Stone Wall is trying to maintain the position but Thornton is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stone Wall keeps the fight on the outside. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stone Wall tries to clinch but fails miserably and Thornton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stone Wall won't be happy with that. Stone Wall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ronny Stone Wall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Billy Thornton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Thornton stands up.
And that's the end of the fight! Billy Thornton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Thornton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McCoy stands up from Bastos's guard - McCoy perhaps looking for a knockout. David Bastos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roy McCoy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McCoy throws a series of punches but Bastos avoids them all with ease.
