Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Greg Groove! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fou Freedomfighter! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Groove shoots in and drives through. Freedomfighter sprawls well. Groove lands a front kick. Groove tries for a takedown but Freedomfighter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Groove really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Freedomfighter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Groove counters with a series of strikes. Freedomfighter will be more careful next time no doubt. Freedomfighter gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Freedomfighter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Freedomfighter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Freedomfighter works his foot free and advances to mount. Groove keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Freedomfighter has hold of Groove's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Groove manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Freedomfighter looks gassed! Groove wants to control but Freedomfighter is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freedomfighter with shots to the head and body - Groove looks very uncomfortable down there. Freedomfighter with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Groove tries to lock up and control but Freedomfighter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Groove tries to reverse the position but Freedomfighter maintains control. Groove is trying to escape the mount but Freedomfighter keeps good control and instead manages to take Groove's back.

But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Freedomfighter, into his guard. Freedomfighter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Groove doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Groove manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Freedomfighter with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Child feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Child passes easily into side control. Nice work. Child thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Andrews knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Child on the ground. Child trying to control the action but Andrews is working from the bottom. Child tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Child advances nicely into full mount. Child looking to finish with strikes here!

Sanchez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Sanchez wants to control from the top but Nahasapim keeps moving. Nahasapim looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! Nahasapim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nahasapim manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into Nahasapim's guard. And that's the end of the fight! Hammerhead Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
