Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Derick Sprole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ansgar Kurucz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sprole kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Youre Gonna Go Far, Kid. Kurucz has chosen Marek Ztraceny - Sex s Ex as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ansgar Kurucz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ansgar Kurucz! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurucz misses with a takedown and Sprole counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Sprole rushes Kurucz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kurucz blocking some punches.
Kurucz lands a right hand. Sprole stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Sprole lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Sprole lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Kurucz throws an elbow but it misses.

Sprole does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fallon Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ashton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Fox is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Fox tries to close the distance and clinch but Ashton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fox fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

You can see the frustration on Fox's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. This has been an exciting period of action! Ashton grinds an elbow into Fox's temple. Fox tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ashton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rick Ashton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fox tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Ashton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fox is looking to escape. Ashton lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fox hang on? The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Fox is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Fox really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zoolander throws a big shot that misses. Zoolander walks into a straight right hand from Phitch. Phitch misses with a looping left. Phitch throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zoolander ducks under a wild hook from Phitch. Phitch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zoolander moves away. Phitch dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Phitch throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Zoolander counters with a lovely shot to the body. Phitch swings for the body but Zoolander moves out of range.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Funkyama works his way back into a safe position though.
