The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Rush - just one landing.
Rush goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rush lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Olek Skilgannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skilgannon throws the left hand but Rush avoids the punch easily.
Skilgannon avoids the body shot from Rush.
Skilgannon looks to land a body kick but Rush moved away.
Rush misses with a straight left.
Skilgannon misses with a lunging right hand
and Rush counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Skilgannon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rush moves away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Skilgannon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Skilgannon throws a wild body kick that Rush sees coming a mile off.
Skilgannon shoots for a takedown but Rush saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Skilgannon lands a nice shot that snaps Rush's head back.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rush gets to his feet and stands over Skilgannon, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Skilgannon felt that one! Rush unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Skilgannon from any more punishment!
