And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Julius Octavius!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Octavius napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Octavius's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie in side control lands a decent elbow.
Gracie is trying to move to mount but Octavius reverses beautifully and ends up in Gracie's guard.

Octavius is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Octavius wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Octavius does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Octavius with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Octavius is doing well to control the position and prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.
Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie wants to control the pace but Octavius is squirming around nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Octavius is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
Octavius tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Blazed Gracie will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Octavius manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Octavius pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Octavius is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
