20 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tomasz Adamek! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adamek rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Adamek tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Adamek somewhat. Leer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Adamek tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leer smiles and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Adamek. Mike Leer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Adamek. Leer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Adamek manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Leer prevents Adamek from improving his position. Leer is trying to control the action in half guard but Adamek is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Adamek is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Leer pulls his head out easily. Leer trying to pass the guard but Adamek defending well. Adamek actively working from the bottom here. Adamek looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Leer wants to stand up but Adamek is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Leer wasn't doing enough on the ground. Adamek closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Adamek prevents Leer from escaping the position. Adamek looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Leer struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adamek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Leer is trying to control Adamek's posture but Adamek avoids it. Leer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adamek trying to control the action but Leer is working from the bottom. Leer tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Tomasz Adamek has been cut. Decent striking displayed by Adamek there. Adamek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Leer swivels and escapes. Leer misses with a shot to the body and Adamek holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Adamek turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Leer seems a little lost for a moment, as Adamek dominates the positioning. Adamek scoring with punches and elbows. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Adamek trying to control the position but Leer is working away. An elbow from Adamek crashes against the mat.
Leer is looking for a sweep. Adamek lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leer sneaks back into half guard. Leer looking for submissions off his back. Adamek moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Leer.
Leer is not content to let Adamek control the position. Adamek tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Adamek has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Adamek remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adamek in side control lands a decent elbow. Adamek working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Leer is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Adamek's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Leer is staying active underneath Adamek, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Leer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Adamek's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Adamek's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Leer missing with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek trying to control the position but Leer manages to sink in the hooks. Leer trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Adamek tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Adamek keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Adamek is squirming around, avoiding Leer's attempts to control the action. Leer looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Adamek is rocked! Leer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Adamek is still in real trouble! Can Leer finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Leer controlling from the full mount. Leer looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Adamek covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gyros shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kothciushco defends it nicely. Gyros shoots in looking for a takedown. Kothciushco tries to sprawl out of it but Gyros keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kothciushco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gyros fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kothciushco tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gyros paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gyros stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kothciushco. Gyros shoots in but Kothciushco avoids the takedown attempt easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kothciushco works the jab nicely. Gyros misses with a takedown attempt and Kothciushco counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kothciushco clinches. Kothciushco comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Kothciushco scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gyros. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kothciushco tries a head kick but it misses.

Krzysztof Kothciushco dominated that round. The cut man is working on Greek Gyros's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gyros dives in and grabs Kothciushco's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kothciushco pushes down on Gyros's head and hops out. Gyros tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kothciushco swivels and escapes. Kothciushco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gyros. Kothciushco avoids a punch combination nicely.
Krzysztof Kothciushco seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kothciushco instigates a clinch. Kothciushco pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kothciushco thuds his shin into the meat of Gyros's side. Gyros throws a leg kick and Kothciushco makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Gyros throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kothciushco's waist but Kothciushco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gyros off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greek Gyros. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kothciushco swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gyros. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kothciushco instigates a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kothciushco lands a body punch in the clinch. Gyros being controlled against the cage.

Kothciushco steps away and waves a wobbly Gyros back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Greek Gyros's cut is getting worse. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kothciushco plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Gyros to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Gyros just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
