Demaratas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Qabbani swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Demaratas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Qabbani as he jumps to the side.
Demaratas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Demaratas misses with a head kick.
Qabbani is looking to slow Demaratas down with leg kicks.
Qabbani really is a fat lump.

Dill uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Valakas.

Valakas works over Dill with some ground and pound from guard.
Valakas wants to control from the top but Dill keeps moving.
Valakas throws an elbow that misses. Dill uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Valakas's guard. Nice move by Dill!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Valakas is looking to cinch up a triangle. Dill throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Valakas's body to avoid the submission. Valakas has instead reached around Dill's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Valakas arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Fabricio Valakas!
A very excited looking Fabricio Valakas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ramus Arthanier.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duddy looks to land a combination but O Conghaile avoids it well.
Duddy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Duddy throws a leg kick but O Conghaile sees it coming and checks it nicely.
John Duddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Conghaile fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Duddy.
O Conghaile buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Duddy throws a poor cross that misses
and O Conghaile counters with a stiff right hand.
A head kick from Duddy lands but O Conghaile takes it in his stride.

O Conghaile connects with a leg kick. Duddy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

O Conghaile cracks Duddy with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Duddy looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can O Conghaile finish him?

O Conghaile lands an uppercut, right on the button! Duddy tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
