Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Magamedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Birbant!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magamedov tries to close the distance and clinch but Birbant swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Birbant.
Magamedov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Birbant manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Birbant pushes Magamedov away with a front kick.
Magamedov has a takedown stuffed.
Magamedov shoots in looking for a takedown. Birbant tries to sprawl out of it but Magamedov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Birbant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bob Magamedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Magamedov throws a right hand that misses
and Birbant counters with a left and a right that stings Magamedov.
Birbant cracks Magamedov with an open hand slap.
Magamedov shoots for a takedown but Birbant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Magamedov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Birbant throws a head kick but Magamedov moves out of range.
Birbant lands a head kick. Magamedov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Magamedov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Birbant's waist but Birbant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magamedov off to one side.

Birbant keeps the fight on the outside.

Magamedov clinches up against the cage.
Birbant lands a hook to the side of the head.
Magamedov has a couple of punches blocked by Birbant.
Birbant lands a nice uppercut.
Magamedov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Birbant to keep the fight standing.
Birbant stalling the fight.
Magamedov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd are getting on Birbant's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Josh Birbant.
Birbant leaves Magamedov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Magamedov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Birbant punishes Magamedov's body with a nice straight punch.
Magamedov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Birbant manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Magamedov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Birbant - the referee stops the clock and Magamedov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Birbant. Magamedov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Magamedov fails in his attempt to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Magamedov goes for a double leg but Birbant avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Birbant continues to drive forward.
Magamedov's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
The referee calls for Birbant to work.

Magamedov trying to stall but Birbant improves his position.
Birbant lands a right hand.
Birbant taking a breather.
Magamedov takes a shot to the head.
Magamedov tries to break the clinch but Birbant is controlling the position.
Magamedov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Birbant smiles and moves away.
Birbant stuns Magamedov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Birbant throws a head kick that half lands.
Sloppy strikes from Magamedov. Those never looked like landing.

Magamedov shoots in for a takedown but Birbant shows good takedown defense.
Magamedov is breathing heavily.
Birbant chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Magamedov shoots in looking for a takedown but Birbant manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Magamedov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Magamedov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Birbant can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Birbant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Magamedov doesn't seem bothered though.
A right-left combo lands from Birbant.

Birbant tests Magamedov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Magamedov gets tackled into the cage by Birbant. Birbant maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Magamedov shoots in for a takedown but Birbant shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The referee is keeping an eye on Universe - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
