Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Akimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Donovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akimoto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Knockout. Msb looks for a takedown but Five sprawls well.

Five feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like Msb might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Five is staying active underneath Msb, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Five shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Msb is trying to defend but Five finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Five thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Msb is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are battling for position here. Msb manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Msb has momentary wrist control but Five slips an elbow through the middle.

Five got a little sloppy there for a moment and Msb has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Five has managed to get both his arms back between Msb's legs - danger averted.

Msb lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
