Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seijuro Akashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owens comes to the cage accompanied by Street Fighting Years by Simple Minds. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seijuro Akashi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akashi closes the distance and clinches up with Owens, looking for a takedown. Akashi pushes Owens against the cage but Owens circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Akashi clinches with his opponent.

Owens gets control of Akashi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Owens will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Owens is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Owens tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Akashi wants to stand and escape but Owens is having none of it.

Gary throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bennett sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Bennett tries to bum rush Gary with a series of wild strikes but Gary uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bennett fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Gary checks it well.

Bennett does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Martin leaves Souch with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Souch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Souch off to one side.
Michael Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nixy Souch.

Jules Winnfield decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Richard Lokey stepped up to the mic, saying 'good fight'.
