The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gudas tries to score with a low kick but Hunter moves his leg out of the way. Gudas feints and then cracks Hunter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hunter down. Hunter blocks a head kick by Gudas.

Gudas throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily. A head kick from Gudas lands but Hunter takes it in his stride. Gudas tried to score with a low kick but Hunter checks it. Gudas throws a head kick but Hunter moves out of range.

That was a close round but I would say that Stewart Hunter will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hunter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hunter content just to control the position here. Hunter looking to control but Gudas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gudas regains half guard. Gudas is staying active underneath Hunter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hunter is controlling the pace.

Bam has Couture pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Couture manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Couture wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bam has him pressed against the cage. Bam breaks from the clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Couture. Bam pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bam lands with a kick to the temple. Couture shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Couture uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bam.
Bam feints and then cracks Couture's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Couture down. Couture shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bam as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bam tries to sprawl but Couture drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bam avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Couture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bam has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Couture is working away from the top position though. Couture throws a strike but Bam avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Couture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Couture throwing strikes from guard but Bam blocks nicely. Bam trying to keep a closed guard but Couture is proving a slippery customer.

No damage this time. Couture working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bam's head. Bam controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself. Bam has momentary wrist control but Couture slips an elbow through the middle. Fedor Couture is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Couture trying to control but Bam is working from the bottom. Bam can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Couture controls the pace. Couture is working Bam over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bam Bam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bam looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Couture moves out of range of the body kick from Bam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Dean or perhaps it was just good defense by Miller, which made it look bad. Dean fails with a takedown attempt. Miller misses the shot to the body. Dean fails to land the takedown. Dax Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Dean. Miller dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dean. That did some damage! Miller just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dean shoots in but no luck this time. Dean has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Dean connects with a body shot. Nice sprawl there from Miller as Dean shoots in. Miller lands a nice shot to the body.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Miller.

Dean is trying to pull guard but Miller has him pressed against the cage. Miller is pushing Dean up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Miller landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

We've been hearing good reports from Sanders's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills.
