6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marvin Gustilo! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz tries to clinch up but Gustilo circles away and keeps his distance. Diaz drives through with a takedown into Gustilo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gustilo looking to control.
Diaz postures up in Gustilo's guard and throws a big left but Gustilo blocks it. Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gustilo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gustilo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gustilo looking for a sweep. Not yet Gustilo, not yet. Gustilo trying to keep a closed guard but Diaz is proving a slippery customer.
Diaz throws a big right hand that misses. Gustilo wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Diaz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gustilo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gustilo is pulling down on Diaz's head. It's preventing any offense from Diaz, at least for the moment. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz is looking for a triangle but Gustilo pushes his legs off easily.

and Ali counters with a crisp one two that drops Gaffney! Ali thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gaffney to his feet! Gaffney is in big trouble!
Gaffney is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Gaffney throws an overhand right that lands on Ali's shoulder, as Ali tries to avoid the shot. Gaffney is still on wobbly legs! Can Ali finish him? Gaffney throws a right hand that Ali ducks under and follows up with a left that Ali also avoids with ease. Gaffney shoots for a double leg takedown but Ali sprawls well. He's pushed Gaffney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gaffney glances at the clock... BAM! Ali nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Gaffney crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Gaffney is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitecoat misses with a straight right. Di Vaio swings away with a leg kick that misses. Di Vaio takes a jab right on the kisser.
Axel Whitecoat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circling - Whitecoat throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Di Vaio lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Whitecoat looks to score with a jab to the body but Di Vaio is just out of range. Di Vaio tries for a takedown but Whitecoat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Di Vaio looks for a takedown but Whitecoat sprawls well. Di Vaio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Whitecoat paws at him with a jab and circles away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Whitecoat has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Whitecoat misses with an uppercut
and Di Vaio counters with a low kick, right behind Whitecoat 's knee. A jab from Whitecoat misses. Di Vaio moves out of range of the strikes. Di Vaio pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Whitecoat back to the cage. Di Vaio follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Johny Witson has been cut. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Junior decides to stand back up. Witson is still on wobbly legs! Can Junior finish him? Witson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Witson seems to have recovered his senses. Junior ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Witson's jaw. Witson's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Junior does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

A very excited looking Hermio Junior made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Boy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I'm fat. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boy fails with a takedown attempt. Boy tries to clinch but Duran is having none of it. Duran lands a nice hook to Boy's body. Boy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Boy tries to close the distance and clinch but Duran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Duran keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Boy takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Boy darts in looking for a takedown but Duran gets double underhooks and turns Boy into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boy decides to pull guard. Duran told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Duran controls from within his opponent's guard. Duran won't allow Boy to sweep him here. Duran is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Duran pushing down on Boy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Umberto Duran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duran sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Boy somewhat. Boy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Boy shoots in and drives through. Duran sprawls well. Boy tries to clinch there but Duran circles away.
Boy looks for a takedown but Duran sprawls well. Duran tries to bum rush Boy with a series of wild strikes but Boy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Duran tries to score with a low kick but Boy moves his leg out of the way. The fight moves into the clinch position. Duran working hard to break the clinch. Duran breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duran swats him away and circles back towards the center. Duran stuffs the takedown. Boy goes for a double leg but Duran avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Duran continues to drive forward. Duran is trying to break free. Boy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Boy checks a leg kick. Duran scores with a crisp jab that stopped Boy in his tracks. Boy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Duran defends well and Boy ends up having to push Duran into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Boy lands a body shot in the clinch.
Duran lands a shoulder strike. Duran wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Boy has him pressed against the cage. Boy is trying to drag Duran to the mat but Duran just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Duran lands a right hand that snaps the head of Boy backwards. Duran's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Duran misses with a low kick. Boy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duran avoids it really well and circles away. Duran slips a straight right by Boy. Boy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duran pinned against the cage. Duran gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Duran looks to land a left hand but Boy moved out of range nicely. Boy gets a takedown into half guard. Boy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duran's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Boy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duran lands with a nice body punch. Boy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Boy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duran is fending him off so far but Boy persists. Nope, Duran circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duran stuffs the takedown. Boy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Duran avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duran tries to avoid it but Boy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duran to the ground. Duran escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Boy has a takedown stuffed. Duran feints a jab promting Boy to slip. Duran then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Boy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Boy avoids the body shot from Duran.
Duran drops Boy with a beautiful combination! Boy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Duran is looking for the KO!
It looks like Johnny Boy has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Boy. Duran cracks Boy with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Duran has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Boy to stand back up!
Boy is rocked! Duran lands a nice looking body shot.

We've been hearing reports that Kimura has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kimura misses with a two punch combination.

That was a close round but I would say that Kuroda Atsushi will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Canthropus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Atsushi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Atsushi with a flurry of punches that miss.

Atsushi advances to half guard. Atsushi prevents Canthropus from improving his position. Canthropus trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Atsushi manages to pass to mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Atsushi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Canthropus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Atsushi with shots to the head and body - Canthropus looks very uncomfortable down there. This has been an exciting period of action! Atsushi looking to control and managing it successfully. Kuroda Atsushi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Atsushi lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kuroda Atsushi dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Atsushi drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Canthropus right on the button. Canthropus goes down! Atsushi follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Atsushi gets the win via TKO!

Kuroda Atsushi seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. In defeat, Pithe Canthropus stepped up to the mic, saying 'Crap. I lost. That sucks.'.
