The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mir trying to control but Morgan is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Morgan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Frankestein Mir's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Nice shot lands for Morgan. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Morgan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mir has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mir and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Morgan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Morgan throws a nice outside leg kick. Morgan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mir finds it's way round the side to connect with Morgan's head. Nice jab there from Morgan. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mir walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Morgan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
No joy there for Mir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice defenses there by Morgan. Morgan throws a series of punches but Mir moves out of range. Mir fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Morgan scores with a jab to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Mir is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. BOOM! Morgan lands a beautiful left hook that drops Mir. Mir tries to recover but Morgan is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Mir lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Morgan! Jason Morgan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
