He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Nanahara can't keep his opponent in guard - State advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Nanahara is staying active underneath State, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Linhares doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Linhares scores with a crisp jab that stopped Xinhai in his tracks. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Irenicus. Irenicus misses with a hook. Butcher ducked under it nicely. Jon Irenicus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Butcher. Irenicus does a little dance to reset his feet. Butcher throws a leg kick that misses. Butcher takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Butcher uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Irenicus. Irenicus lands a jab to the nose. A jab from Butcher finds it's way through Irenicus's defenses.
It looks like Jon Irenicus has been cut. Irenicus moves into range and connects with a jab. Irenicus moves out of range as Butcher strikes. Irenicus connects with an inside leg kick. A combination from Butcher does no damage. The fighters circling - Butcher throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Irenicus, right into the meat.

Irenicus gets off balance looking for a body kick and Butcher counters with a lovely straight right hand! Irenicus jabbing away but nothing is landing. Irenicus bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Butcher's head. Irenicus misses with a few strikes there.
Irenicus throws a jab when Butcher was well out of range. Irenicus connects with a solid leg kick. Butcher lands a left and a right that send Irenicus crashing to the mat, dazed. Butcher thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Irenicus is rocked! Butcher connects with a superb combination that knocks Irenicus out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Butcher before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Irenicus!
