1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juha Nimmaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Hunt! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nimmaki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hunt on his heels. He'll look to pass Hunt's guard now, I'm sure. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Nimmaki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nimmaki stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nimmaki showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hunt.
Nimmaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Hunt, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nimmaki throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nimmaki tries to clinch up but Hunt circles away and keeps his distance. Hunt shoots in looking for a takedown but Nimmaki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hunt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nimmaki scores with a takedown into Hunt's guard. Nimmaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nimmaki sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt seems keen to control Nimmaki's posture. Nimmaki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Nimmaki passes Hunt's left leg - he's now in half guard. Nimmaki is nestled in close to Hunt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hunt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nimmaki. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nimmaki pulls his head out easily. Nimmaki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nimmaki is trying for a kimura here. Hunt looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Nimmaki wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamilton swats away the attempt to clinch by Guillard. Hamilton throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A bone on bone clash there as Hamilton blocks the leg kick.
Guillard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hamilton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Guillard is in Hamilton's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Guillard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Guillard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hamilton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hamilton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Guillard wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Guillard controls the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hamilton tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guillard gets to mount! Hamilton was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Guillard looking to control and managing it successfully. Hamilton is desperately trying to improve his position but Guillard has a good base and remains in mount.

Strange move. Guillard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hamilton to the mat! Hamilton manages to get full guard. Guillard stands up from Hamilton's guard - Guillard perhaps looking for a knockout. Hamilton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guillard misses with a looping right. Hamilton dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Guillard. That did some damage! Michael Hamilton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Guillard shoots in looking for a takedown but Hamilton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Guillard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hamilton throws out a leg kick but Guillard moves out of range and Hamilton only half commits. Hamilton is looking to score with low kicks. This has been an exciting period of action! Hamilton is looking to slow Guillard down with leg kicks. Hamilton keeps the fight on the outside. Guillard tries to clinch but Hamilton is having none of it. Guillard is looking to clinch but Hamilton is avoiding it.

Hamilton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guillard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Guillard works over Hamilton with some ground and pound from guard. Hamilton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Guillard controls the pace. Guillard works a leg free and moves into half guard. Still in half guard, Guillard seems content to control. Guillard passes the guard and advances to mount! He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hamilton for as long as he can get away with. Guillard prevents Hamilton from getting the reversal.
