Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Otis Driftwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Bearer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Driftwood comes to the cage accompanied by House of 1000 corpses . On his way into the cage it seems that Otis Driftwood has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Otis Driftwood seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Otis Driftwood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Bearer! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bearer is looking to clinch. Driftwood takes one on the button. Driftwood slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bearer clinches. Driftwood lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Paul Bearer has been cut. Driftwood fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Driftwood lands a nice uppercut. Driftwood throws a punch but it's blocked by Bearer. Bearer lands a left hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bearer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bearer tries to stall but Driftwood uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bearer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bearer closes the distance looking to clinch letting Driftwood counter with a right hand. Driftwood keeps the fight on the outside. Driftwood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Driftwood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bearer manages to avoid it. Bearer throws a lazy uppercut
and Driftwood counters with a nice body shot. Bearer misses the shot to the body.

Bearer feints and as Driftwood raises his hands in defense, Bearer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bearer trying to control but Driftwood is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bearer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Driftwood holds on and takes a little breather. Bearer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Driftwood manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bearer manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bearer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Driftwood postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bearer looks a forlorn figure.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Driftwood cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Driftwood is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Driftwood wants to control but Bearer is keeping him busy. Driftwood is thwarting Bearer's attempts to control the position. Driftwood perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bearer looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bearer is looking to control Driftwood's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bearer avoid being mounted? Bearer flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bearer throws a push kick but Driftwood slaps the foot to one side. Driftwood throws a body punch but Bearer moves out of range. Nice body punch from Driftwood. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bearer utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Bearer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Driftwood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good shot there by Driftwood. Bearer shoots in and gets a takedown into Driftwood's guard. Driftwood wants to sweep here but Bearer controlling him for the moment. Bearer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bearer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bearer trying to control but Driftwood is working from the bottom. Bearer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Driftwood's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bearer under the eye. Bearer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Driftwood paws at him with a jab and circles away. That's four minutes gone in the round. Driftwood throws a body shot but no joy. Bearer is looking to clinch. Bearer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Driftwood throws a sloppy head kick and Bearer moves out of range easily. Bearer takes a swing at Driftwood's ribcage but misses. Otis Driftwood is winning the standup battle so far. Driftwood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bearer moves away. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Driftwood.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bearer misses the shot to the body. Driftwood throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Driftwood missing with a left hand there. Bearer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bearer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Driftwood lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bearer. Bearer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bearer looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bearer is defended easily by Driftwood. Driftwood connects with a solid leg kick. Bearer misses with an attempted mid kick.
No joy there for Bearer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Driftwood. That's going to slow Bearer down. Bearer throws a shot from downtown. Driftwood moves away and avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Bearer does it's job there. Driftwood thuds a left hand into Bearer's body. A punch lands to the side of Bearer 's head but he takes it in his stride. Bearer on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Bearer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bearer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Driftwood lands a nice shot to the body.

Driftwood throws a wild body kick that Bearer sees coming a mile off. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bearer. Otis Driftwood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Bearer. Driftwood throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bearer stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Driftwood pushes down on Bearer's head and hops out. Bearer leaves Driftwood with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bearer is looking to clinch but Driftwood is avoiding it.
Bearer gets a double leg takedown into Driftwood's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bearer wants to control from the top but Driftwood keeps moving. Driftwood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Driftwood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bearer keeps working.

Driftwood is looking to take a break and control but Bearer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Otis Driftwood is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Driftwood thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bearer's head. Bearer is trying to stand up here but Driftwood is controlling him well. Bearer trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Paul Bearer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bearer tries to bench press Driftwood off him but Driftwood keeps the position. Driftwood lands a few punches from side control. Driftwood wants to take a breather but Bearer manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Driftwood.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Spight has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Spight and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Spight has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ramanujam. Spight scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ramanujam doesn't seem bothered though. Ramanujam misses the jab. Spight changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Spight thumps Ramanujam with a low kick. Decent striking displayed by Spight there. I was once a 9-2 fighter with a clearly robbed loss on the verge of a title shot and now this is what's left. Pick up the pieces, that's what they say.'.

Firecam goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Firecam because Garrison was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Sax follows him down to the mat - Emelianenko regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut. Sax throwing shots but Emelianenko is blocking nicely. Sax seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. He's obviously looking to slow Romero down. Romero takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Okafor cracks Putin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Putin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Putin moves out of range as Okafor strikes. Putin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Okafor throws a hook but Putin avoids it easily. Okafor misses with a right hand and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Putin lands a leg kick that knocks Okafor off balance momentarily. Putin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Okafor and Putin are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Okafor throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Putin into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Okafor knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Abah Okafor! Abah Okafor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. The defeated Jonas Putin had this to say: 'I'm done.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dogu just misses with a punch to the body.
Dogu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fayth manages to avoid it. Fayth misses with a takedown attempt and Dogu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fayth with a poor takedown and Dogu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ray Fayth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fayth gets caught napping as Dogu dives in and scores a takedown. Fayth manages to retain guard. Fayth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dogu's guard. Dogu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fayth wants to control from the top but Dogu keeps moving.
