2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Weidman! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weidman throws a leg kick but Felipe sees it coming and moves out of range. Weidman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Weidman showed some decent athleticism there. Felipe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Weidman is working away from the top position though. Weidman looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Weidman performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Felipe gets back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weidman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Felipe tries to land a sweep but no joy. Weidman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Weidman stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Felipe has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Weidman manages to get his head free but now Felipe has transitioned to an armbar! Weidman grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Felipe! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Freire wants it to stay on the feet. Freire lands with an overhand left. Freire throws a nice looking combination but Meyer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Meyer shoots for a takedown but Freire saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Meyer slips under a jab. Freire scores with a shot to the body.
Freire looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The fighters circle momentarily. Freire darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Meyer is rocked! Meyer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Meyer is still on wobbly legs! Can Freire finish him? Freire throws a body shot but no joy. Freire swinging wildly here.
Meyer seems to have recovered his senses. Freire looks to land a right hand but Meyer moved out of range. Meyer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Freire paws at him with a jab and circles away. Freire looks to land a combination but Meyer avoids it well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Freire throws a series of strikes that have Meyer backpedaling.

and Meyer counters with a nice double leg into guard. Meyer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Meyer controls from within his opponent's guard. Freire trying to keep a closed guard but Meyer is proving a slippery customer.
Freire wants to sweep but no luck. Freire is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Freire is trying to control the position but Meyer postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freire wants to hit a switch here but Meyer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Freire there! Freire manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Freire is looking to escape. Freire is working to get back to half guard.
Freire tries to hold on but Meyer pushes him away. Freire stops Meyer from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Freire bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Meyer keeping full guard, as Freire tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer pulls Freire in close to prevent any damage. Freire forces his way into half guard. Meyer actively working from the bottom here. Freire is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Meyer sees it coming and defends easily. Freire missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Freire is thwarting Meyer's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meyer needs to keep his hands up - Freire had a free shot at his head there. Freire misses with the combination.
Freire misses the shot to the body. A slow jab from Freire misses its intended target. Freire throws an overhand right that lands on Meyer's shoulder, as Meyer tries to avoid the shot. and Meyer counters with a shoot takedown. Freire fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyer wants to get up but he can't break Freire's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Freire wants to sweep but no luck. Freire manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meyer manages to get himself to full guard.

Freire is pressing down on Meyer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Meyer is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freire is keen to just control but Meyer is a slippery customer. Freire uses his free foot to push down on Meyer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Meyer. Freire putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Freire wants to control the pace but Meyer is squirming around nicely. Freire looking to finish with strikes here!
Meyer has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Freire is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Meyer can do to turn this around? Meyer holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Freire tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Freire throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Freire fails to take his opponent's back. Meyer wants to control but Freire is having none of it. Freire seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Meyer is holding on tight.

Freire trying to control but he's not successful this time. Freire is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Meyer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer tries to hold on but Freire postures up. Freire is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Meyer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Meyer shrugs it off. Freire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meyer is looking to escape. Meyer has given up his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Meyer covering up well under a series of strikes from Freire. Freire is persistently looking for the submission but Meyer is defending it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freire connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Meyer shoots and misses and Freire counters with a straight right hand. Freire misses with a double jab.
Freire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Meyer was well out of range. Poor timing from Freire. Freire thows a left - swing and a miss! Meyer looks for a takedown but Freire sprawls well. Freire uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Meyer has time to react. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freire throws a jab but it's blocked by Meyer. Freire drops Meyer with a huge uppercut! Meyer drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Freire is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Post tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lobo wants to clinch and Post counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Post. Post landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Post pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lobo wants to clinch. Lobo tries to clinch but Post moves out of range. Lobo tries to clinch up but Post circles away and keeps his distance. Lobo blocks a head kick by Post.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Post stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lobo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lobo keeping moving, preventing Post from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Post slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lobo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Post has his hands clasped together but Lobo extends and breaks Post's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lobo.

Antonio Lobo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. That's better than Mackenzie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mackenzie stands up. Matsuo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mackenzie darts in looking for a takedown but Matsuo gets double underhooks and turns Mackenzie into the cage. Mackenzie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Matsuo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Matsuo breaks the clinch.
Matsuo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Matsuo lands with a slapping head kick. Matsuo throws a push kick but Mackenzie slaps the foot to one side. Mackenzie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Matsuo defends it nicely. Damian Matsuo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Mackenzie. A slapping body kick lands there for Matsuo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mackenzie closes the distance and clinches up with Matsuo, looking for a takedown. Mackenzie pushes Matsuo against the cage but Matsuo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mackenzie takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Matsuo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mackenzie to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mackenzie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Mackenzie shoots in looking for a takedown but Matsuo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mackenzie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mackenzie takes a kick to the side of the head. Matsuo connects with a solid leg kick. Mackenzie looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Matsuo is fighting to maintain full guard but Mackenzie has managed to sneak the leg through. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dincht throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Thomas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt. Dincht scores with a jab to the head.
Thomas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dincht sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thomas somewhat. Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Dincht tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dincht manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Martine Dincht has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Thomas. The fight moves into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dincht lands a body punch in the clinch. Thomas wants a takedown but no success here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dincht working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Thomas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dincht fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dincht lands a head shot. Dincht lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Thomas crumples to the floor! Dincht milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
