The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab by Meech. Meech throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ablatino counters with a nice double leg into side control. Meech won't be happy with that. Meech wants to get back to his feet but Ablatino drags him back down. Meech tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Meech wants to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ablatino tightening his grip on Meech, looking for the choke. Meech trying to get back to his feet but Ablatino is in full control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Meech defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Ablatino looking for the RNC. Meech fending off the submission attempt from Ablatino. Meech is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ablatino has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Meech has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Ablatino working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Ablatino is persistently looking for the submission but Meech is defending it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Meech trying to get back to his feet but Ablatino is in full control for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ablatino looking to break Meech's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Meech remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ablatino will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meech is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Meech cracks Ablatino with a good jab. Ablatino seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Meech throws a combination that misses and Ablatino counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Meech is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ablatino is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ablatino drops back, looking for a kneebar! Meech looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Meech looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Meech! Ablatino tries to escape but Meech is in control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ablatino throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Meech stalks Ablatino and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ablatino's face. Ablatino staggers backwards, shaken. Meech lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Meech looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Meech throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Meech looks to land a combination but Ablatino avoids it well. Patches Meech is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Meech throws a one two combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ablatino drops back looking for a leg! Meech is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Meech manages to kick Ablatino off! Ablatino jumps back into Meech's guard. Meech wants to get back to his feet but Ablatino is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ablatino drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meech manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ablatino has Meech in his guard.

Meech throws a right hand that Ablatino ducks under and follows up with a left that Ablatino also avoids with ease. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ablatino avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ablatino walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Patches Meech is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Meech looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ablatino has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ablatino there as he acknowledges the shot. Meech feints a jab promting Ablatino to slip. Meech then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ablatino slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patches Meech showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Ablatino takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. No joy there for Meech, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Patches Meech seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meech cracks Ablatino with a good jab. Meech misses with a jab, cross combination.
Meech lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ablatino circles away quickly and effectively. Meech swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ablatino decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Meech's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ablatino drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meech manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ablatino has Meech in his guard. Ablatino wants to stand but Meech is controlling the position. Tino Ablatino overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ablatino trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ablatino has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Meech off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. A punch combination from Meech misses. Meech misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ablatino goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Meech has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ablatino but great work by Meech. Ablatino wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Ablatino bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Patches Meech seems to be getting the better of the standup. Meech tries to bum rush Ablatino with a series of wild strikes but Ablatino uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ablatino takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ablatino avoids a punch combination nicely.
Meech scores with a hook to the body. Ablatino takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
And that's the end of the fight! Patches Meech comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Meech has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ouelet has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blimm is landing a low percentage of strikes. Blimm circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ouelet lands a nice looking body shot.
Blimm throws a series of punches but Ouelet moves out of range. Ouelet swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ouelet takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Ouelet thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ouelet looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blimm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ouelet working the head and body with strikes. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ouelet connects with a nice short shot to Blimm's temple. Ouelet looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ground and pound from Ouelet. Blimm is trying to maintain the position but Ouelet is very close to passing his half guard. Ouelet keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blimm blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ouelet. Ouelet lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ouelet stops Blimm from getting back to his feet.

Blimm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Blimm is pushing Ouelet's head away, looking to escape. Ouelet manages to hold on to the position though. Ouelet is staying tight to Blimm's torso, preventing him from escaping. Ouelet scores with a couple of short elbows. Blimm on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blimm tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ouelet is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Blimm will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Blimm takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Ouelet trying to control the position from guard on top but Blimm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Blimm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ouelet on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ouelet controlling from the top position. Ouelet makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ouelet throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ouelet passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blimm! Ouelet cracks Blimm with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Blimm is squirming around, avoiding Ouelet's attempts to control the action. Blimm wants to hold on but Ouelet pushes him away. Blimm in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Ouelet fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ouelet lands a big elbow. Ouelet is landing with some decent strikes but Blimm is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ouelet raining down hammerfists from mount. Ouelet scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ouelet lands a big shot there that rocks Blimm but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ouelet has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ouelet has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Blimm's face.

De Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. De Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Punter. De Silva misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Punter.
Punter fails in his attempt to clinch. Punter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. De Silva is trying to defend but Punter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. De Silva wants to control but Punter is keeping busy and won't allow it. De Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
